As April approaches, the LGBTQIA community in Dallas is gearing up for a series of exciting events celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and artistic expression. One standout event is Youth First’s 2025 prom, themed ‘Masquerade Ball’.
This vibrant celebration is scheduled for Friday, April 25, from 7-10 p.m. at the Resource Center, located at 5750 Cedar Springs Road. The event is exclusively for LGBTQIA and allied youth ages 12-18.

In conjunction with this event, OUTLaw is set to showcase the 2025 Breaking the Binary Fashion Show on the same evening, April 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the UNT Dallas College of Law located at 106 S. Harwood St. Individual tickets for this fashion extravaganza are priced at $25.

April 25 marks the beginning of the 19th edition of the Dallas International Film Festival, which runs through May 1 at Cinépolis Luxury Cinema Victory Park, located at 2635 Victory Park Lane. This festival promises an exciting lineup of films; for details, visit DallasFilm.org.
For those in Carrollton, the quarterly Carrollton Pride Coffee Brunch takes place on April 26 at FIZZ, located at 3310 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 115, Plano at 10 a.m. Interested participants should refer to the event page on Facebook for more information and RSVP details.

The following day, April 27, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Tyler Area Gays will host a Drag Bingo Brunch at ETX Brewing Co., located at 221 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler. Tickets and details can be found on Eventbrite.com.
The Fort Worth Opera will present ‘Cinderella (La Cenerentola)’ on April 25-27, with performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce St., Fort Worth. Interested attendees can check FWOpera.org for tickets and more information.

As May approaches, various exciting events await. Lastly, on May 3, the Human Rights Alliance will hold a grand Open House for the first permanent LGBT Center for Santa Fe’s queer community from 1-4 p.m. at 1189 Parkway Drive, Ste. E2, Santa Fe, N.M. This is an exciting time for the community, as celebrations with HRA Executive Director Kevin Howen and HRA President Tim Struck highlight this momentous occasion.
