San Francisco’s Pride Celebration is officially set for Saturday, June 28, through Sunday, June 29, but the festivities encompass a full month of activities that resonate with the vibrant LGBTQ community.
This year’s theme, ‘Queer Joy is Resistance,’ reflects a commitment to celebrating queer artists and supporting local businesses.
In the spirit of the month, Eater SF has compiled a diverse list of events and dining options, focusing on those that emphasize community support and artistic expression, steering clear of the typical commercialization often associated with Pride.
Among the highlights is the immersive play ‘The Compton’s Cafeteria Riot’ being showcased at the Tenderloin Museum.
With an emphasis on community, various eateries and organizations are collaborating to raise funds for LGBTQ initiatives.
For instance, Flour + Water and Penny Roma are reintroducing their signature rainbow taleggio scarpinocc dish, donating $2 from each plate sold to LYRIC, an organization dedicated to LGBTQ youth and their families.
Flour + Water Pizzeria is also participating by offering the LGBTQIA pizza, which features a colorful mix of ingredients, with $5 from every sale benefiting LYRIC.
Notably, Teeth, a Mission bar, is hosting two Pride events: the Pride edition of Sungay Brunch on Sunday, June 8, and Beats & Eats on June 22, featuring DJs and extended brunch hours.
The 1 Hotel San Francisco will be buzzing with a drag queen brunch on Saturday, June 14, with ticket purchases including live performances and a buffet spread.
On June 28, Mars Bar & Restaurant invites attendees to its Queer Women & Trans Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., combining food, drinks, music, and dancing for an unforgettable experience.
For a lively evening, don’t miss out on Zeitgeist’s free drag bingo on June 19, hosted by Eucalypstick, or El Rio’s series of events, including a party with Out & Abt on June 21.
On Sunday, June 8, Starlite offers a unique Pride drag show where guests can enjoy drag performances, DJ sets, and delightful bites—plus a special Pride cocktail named the Rosey Cheeks, with a portion of sales benefitting the Horizon Foundation, which supports LGBTQ nonprofits.
Saluhall in mid-Market is going all out this month with extensive Pride programming, featuring a pop-up gallery by Good Mother Studios that showcases queer artists.
Every Thursday, patrons can meet the artists as Saluhall presents its “Guava Have Pride” drink special, benefiting the SF LGBT Center.
Meanwhile, Barrio in Ghirardelli Square is delighting guests with a rainbow-layered margarita, contributing a part of the proceeds to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Verve Coffee Roasters is also getting in on the action, offering a blueberry matcha cold foam latte with all beverage sales directed towards Equality California.
Pride parties are aplenty in San Francisco.
Fat Cat, a queer-focused wine club, will host its Fibers of Being Pride Event on June 7, featuring wines and showcasing queer artists.
For those seeking a more elegant experience, the Ritz-Carlton is hosting an afternoon tea party at Parallel 37 throughout June, offering a luxurious pairing of Champagne, tea, sandwiches, and desserts.
Drag Me Downtown, a series of weekly drag shows, is returning every Friday this month.
The inaugural event kicks off on June 6 at One Market Restaurant from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., presenting guests with dinner and a drag review, an opportunity to enjoy the restaurant before it closes on June 11.
Items from the menu during this period will support the LGBTQ Historical Society, and those who pre-register for Drag Me Downtown events for a $10 fee will receive “2025 drag swag,” with proceeds going toward the Transgender District.
The series culminates with the Drag Me to Front Street Pride Block Party on June 27 at 240 Front Street, headlined by Peaches Christ.
On the parade day itself, be sure to take advantage of the rooftop view at Charmaine’s starting at 11 a.m.
However, guests should note that ticket entry times are limited due to the slow elevator service at the Proper Hotel.
Ultimately, this month offers countless ways for attendees to engage, support, and celebrate the LGBTQ community in San Francisco, through vibrant events, delicious cuisine, and meaningful contributions to essential organizations.
