Central Texas School Districts Offer Free Summer Meals for Children and Teens

This summer, school districts across Central Texas are stepping up to support families in their communities by providing free meals to children and teens aged 18 and younger.

The initiative allows kids to access nutritious meals without the need for registration or proof of age, income, or residence.

Notably, the free meal program also extends its offerings to disabled students up to 21 years old.

Families are encouraged to take advantage of this program to keep their children fed during the summer months.

According to Texas Department of Agriculture regulations, meals must be consumed on-site at the campuses.

To help families locate the closest meal site, several resources are available, including:

– Dialing 2-1-1 to speak with a live operator

– Using an interactive site locator map available online

– Sending a text with the words FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304
