2025 California United States/Miss West Coast Pageant Crowns a Diverse Group of Winners

The Newhall Family Theater hosted the 2025 California United States/Miss West Coast Pageant on Sunday, showcasing 78 contestants from across California and beyond.

The event gathered women and girls of all ages and sizes, each displaying their unique attributes, according to Tara Rice, the owner of the California United States/Miss West Coast Pageant.

Rice, who has been organizing pageants for 13 years and proudly described this as her 37th production, explained the significance of this year’s competition.

“It’s a double crowning pageant because we crowned girls and women competing for both the California and United States titles, and also the Miss West Coast titles. That’s why I have so many winners this year. So, the California/West Coast pageant leads to the prestigious United States pageant,” she noted.

Contestants ranged from as young as 4 years old in the “Princess Divisions” to older participants vying for California titles starting at age 8.

Rice emphasized that the United States Pageant System is focused on platforms, meaning each contestant must select a cause they wish to advocate for throughout their reign as titleholders.

In addition to their advocacy, participants are required to engage in community service work, underscoring the pageant’s commitment to social responsibility and personal growth.

After over a decade in the pageant circuit, Rice shared her satisfaction in witnessing contestants evolve and grow each year.

“Now that I’ve been doing it as long as I have, I’ve been able to see the growth in some of the girls and women that I worked with throughout the year, some of the girls I started working with 13 years ago. That came to me when there were little girls … But it’s through the tools that they’ve learned through pageantry that has been able to help them with that,” Rice said.

This year’s pageant celebrated an impressive array of winners, highlighting the diverse talents and dedication of the participants.
