On Saturday, June 28th, the festivities will kick off with the Inner Child Ride at 2:00 pm in Colonel Summers Park. This unique ride encourages participants to reconnect with their youthful spirit, allowing them to escape the stresses of adult life. Participants are invited to bring their favorite toys, nostalgic snacks, and bubble makers, promising a whimsical experience among fellow riders.

Later that evening, cycling enthusiasts can join the 26″ or Die Day One at 6:30 pm, hosted by Something Cycles on E Burnside. This fun urban assault ride will challenge participants with a flat-bar, knobby-tire format, focusing on navigating curbs, balancing on ledges, and discovering playful diversions throughout the city.

The night will culminate with the Loud n Lit event at 8:30 pm at Irving Park. Known for being one of the liveliest rides during Bike Summer, this event features DJs and impressive mobile sound systems. Riders are encouraged to light up their bikes and outfits as they enjoy a colorful night of biking and dancing.

Sunday, June 29th, offers an equally thrilling array of activities. The day will begin with the PDX Gold ride at 9:00 am, departing from Brooklyn Park. This challenging route spans 55 miles with an impressive elevation gain of 7,000 feet. Riders will appreciate the camaraderie of fellow climbers, along with valuable support from mechanical assistance, aid stations, and a post-ride gathering.

Birding enthusiasts can also join the Birding By Bike event at 10:00 am from Farragut Park. This leisurely ride invites participants to connect with nature and spot various species of birds while pedaling through picturesque routes.

Additionally, the Red R Criterium will run all day at Swan Island. This multi-lap road race will test the skills of cyclists on a short loop featuring tight turns and a sweeping corner before the finish line. Newcomers curious about crit racing will find this event a perfect introduction to the thrill of competitive cycling.

For those looking to give back, Rocky Point Trail Maintenance will occur from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in Scappoose. Volunteers can roll up their sleeves to help maintain the singletrack trails they love, ensuring the paths are safe and enjoyable for all.

Cycling enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the Bike Swap at Migration Brewing from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event features local bike shops and companies showcasing unique bike parts and gear at affordable prices, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to upgrade their ride.

Finally, the Sunday Parkways Northeast will take place from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Cully area. This cherished community event invites families and friends to explore the neighborhood streets without car traffic. Participants can look forward to an entertaining day filled with activities in local parks, food vendors, and a sense of community connection.

With such a dynamic schedule, cyclists are sure to find plenty of opportunities to engage with their passion, whether through competitive races, leisurely rides, or community service.
