Security National Financial Corporation Joins Russell 3000 Index

SALT LAKE CITY — Security National Financial Corporation (SNFCA) has officially joined the esteemed Russell 3000 Index following the recent annual reconstitutions, with this inclusion taking effect after the US market opens on June 30, 2025.

The Russell 3000 Index, which is a comprehensive benchmark that represents the largest 4,000 US stocks ranked by total market capitalization as of April 30 each year, is pivotal for investment managers and institutional investors who rely on the index for various financial strategies.

Being a member of the Russell 3000 Index comes with significant advantages, including guaranteed inclusion in either the large-cap Russell 1000 Index or the small-cap Russell 2000 Index, along with the corresponding growth and value style indexes.

Scott Quist, President and Chairman of the Board at Security National Financial Corporation, expressed his pride in the company’s achievement, stating, “Security National has always strived to provide strong returns for our investors and provide an investment vehicle that is stable. The inclusion of Security National in the Russell 3000 this year is evidence of our continued efforts.”

Russell indexes are crucial benchmarks for approximately $10.6 trillion in assets, which are tracked against these indices, part of the FTSE Russell suite.

Fiona Bassett, CEO of FTSE Russell, acknowledged the importance of maintaining the accuracy and relevance of the indexes in an evolving market landscape.

She emphasized, “The Russell indexes have continuously adapted to the evolving dynamic US economy, and it’s crucial to fully recalibrate the suite of Russell US Indexes, ensuring the indexes maintain an accurate representation of the market. The transition to a semi-annual reconstitution frequency from 2026 will ensure our indexes continue to represent the market and maintain the purpose of the index as a portfolio benchmark.”

This shift to semi-annual reconstitutions from 2026 signals FTSE Russell’s commitment to reflect market changes accurately.

Security National Financial Corporation, established in 1965, operates through three segments: providing life insurance, annuity products, and accident and health insurance, overseeing cemeteries and mortuaries across several states, and facilitating residential and commercial loans.

The relevance of Russell indexes in the investment community cannot be overstated, as they are widely used for creating index funds and for tracking performance benchmarks.

FTSE Russell, which is a global leader in indexing, offers thousands of indexes spanning markets and asset classes across more than 70 countries, capturing 98% of the global investable market.

With about $18.1 trillion of assets benchmarked to these indexes, FTSE Russell collaborates with asset managers, asset owners, and investment banks to design effective index-based products, ensuring adherence to established principles of transparency and governance.

FTSE Russell’s innovation in index strategy and commitment to customer partnerships contribute significantly to its robust offerings, making it a vital resource for investors.

The transition of Security National Financial Corporation into the Russell 3000 Index is indicative of its growth strategy and dedication to delivering value to its investors, reinforcing its position as a strong player in the financial services sector.
