The Broadway League’s Kids’ Night on Broadway made a triumphant return to New York City on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, inviting families to experience the enchantment of live theater.
This annual event offered kids aged 18 and under the chance to attend one of 18 participating Broadway shows for free, as long as they were accompanied by a full-paying adult.
It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce young audiences to the mesmerizing world of live performances.
Before the shows began, ticketholders gathered at Duffy Square in Times Square, where they were treated to a range of exciting pre-show activities.
Families stood in line to take part in Broadway-themed fun, along with the chance to meet cast members from some of their beloved productions.
As a delightful addition, the first 500 Kids’ Night on Broadway attendees received a commemorative tote bag filled with goodies, including a freshly baked treat courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
To complete the evening, 21 restaurants located in the Theatre District and the Museum of Broadway offered exclusive dining deals, featuring free kids’ meals with the purchase of an adult entrée.
Some participating shows also included in-theater extras such as talkbacks, activity books, and other engaging experiences.
An unforgettable dining experience awaited at the iconic Ellen’s Stardust Diner, where the day was dedicated to showcasing future Broadway talent through performances by “junior stardusters.”
Ellen Hart, the founder of the diner, welcomed five finalists from its inaugural Junior Starduster competition to perform live during this special day.
Families indulged in a delicious diner menu that was filled with kid-friendly and allergy-safe options.
The special shakes and desserts also added to the fun, ensuring everyone left with a smile.
As waitstaff entertained with popular songs and impressive dance moves, the atmosphere was electric with enthusiasm and joy.
After an exciting dining experience, it was time for the main event.
Families then made their way to their performances, with many attending the hit musical Six.
Guests were actively engaged, using activity books as they prepared for the show, and donned crowns in anticipation of the queens taking the stage.
