Red Room Bistro has officially opened its doors at 255 Trinity Ave, introducing a unique fusion of Southern, American, and Caribbean cuisine to Atlanta’s vibrant dining scene.
The restaurant is the brainchild of entrepreneur Redd and her business partner Ace Carrington, who is also the owner of both Spice House and Crescent City Kitchen.
To curate a standout menu, Redd and Carrington enlisted the expertise of executive chef Teddy Lopez, adding his culinary perspective shaped by their common Trinidadian heritage.
Zesty dishes on the menu include snapper, oxtail mac and cheese, and oxtail empanadas, capturing the essence of their cultural backgrounds.
Lopez describes the menu as “fun and young, but very sexy,” emphasizing bold, colorful presentations with a focus on flavorful sauces.
Patrons can choose from a variety of appetizers such as wings, chicken tenders, and kebabs, along with heartier entrees like lobster rolls, lamb chops, smashburgers, and steak frites.
Moreover, the full bar promises a selection of specialty cocktails, including a refreshing lemon drop cocktail with cherry juice and strawberry puree.
Red Room Bistro represents Redd’s second entry into the restaurant industry, following the launch of her first venture, Johnny’s World Famous Chicken and Waffles, in 2021.
In collaboration with Crystal Smith and rapper Ne-Yo, Johnny’s quickly gained popularity in College Park.
Redd’s passion for the culinary arts was profoundly influenced by her family, particularly her father and stepmother, who owned a restaurant in New York called Dewars.
She reflects on her childhood saying, “That was everything, my safe haven. It was just our family.”
The branding of the Red Room Bistro is a celebration of her personality, characterized by the color red, which also resonates with her last name.
Inside the bistro, patrons are greeted with a striking centerpiece sign that reads “Love is,” adorned with a red heart, along with sumptuous red booths and walls featuring artistic red painted cracks.
Redd’s culinary philosophy emphasizes love as a central theme, stating, “When you cook out of love, you can’t miss.”
On Sundays, the restaurant will host a special Bubbles and Bunnies Brunch, where servers will don Playboy Bunny outfits and provide bottle service from noon to 4 p.m.
This playful concept harks back to Redd’s own experience as a Playboy Bunny in 2015.
Brunch offerings will be equally enticing, feature dishes like the Velvet Vixen with fried chicken wings atop red velvet waffles and the Breakfast Rodeo with steak and eggs.
Looking ahead, Redd has ambitious plans to expand her restaurant brand beyond Atlanta and even into other states.
She admits that she never envisioned how deeply she would connect with the restaurant industry but has finally realized, “No matter what you’re doing, love what you do.”
Red Room Bistro is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays, while Saturdays see service from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to midnight.
