Mentoro, a nonprofit mentorship initiative founded in Montreal a decade ago, is set to launch its third cohort in Miami focusing on Data, AI, and Technology this fall.
With the tagline “changing the world, one coffee at a time,” Mentoro connects senior executives with early- and mid-career professionals through curated themes and informal conversations.
Since its introduction to Miami in 2020, Mentoro has already established a vibrant network, hosting themed mentorship programs dedicated to luxury and retail, with the forthcoming focus on tech trends expected to further enrich this community.
The initiative strives to create life-changing outcomes by fostering meaningful connections through the power of coffee conversations.
“Our mission is to foster lasting connections through coffee conversations that help mentees accelerate their careers and inspire mentors to continue giving back, creating a ripple effect of leadership, learning, and legacy,” said Sandra Abi-Rashed, co-founder of Mentoro.
The mentorship cohorts operate on a six-month cycle where mentors and mentees agree to engage in a minimum of three one-on-one meetings during that timeframe.
Additionally, mentees are invited to exclusive in-person workshops aimed at enhancing their professional skills. Topics from previous workshops have included self-advocacy, leveraging LinkedIn, and applying decision science.
For the upcoming cohort focusing on Data, AI, and Tech, Mentoro promises a roster of seasoned mentors with expertise in data science, machine learning, product development, cybersecurity, and various other tech domains.
Mentees will not only benefit from direct access to industry leaders but also from a supportive community of peers who share similar career interests and goals.
Since its Miami launch, Mentoro has cultivated a local participant base of about 300 people, including mentors, mentees, and workshop attendees.
However, Abi-Rashed noted that visibility and recruitment remain ongoing challenges for the program, emphasizing the need to reach professionals who are eager to learn and grow in these evolving fields.
“The challenge, however, has always been visibility and mentee recruitment, making sure the right people hear about the opportunity,” she said.
Currently, Mentoro is seeking mentees who have 7–12 years of professional experience, particularly in the fields of data, AI, and technology.
While the ideal candidate possesses this level of experience, Abi-Rashed stated that the strength of the application is also considered, allowing individuals with less experience to participate.
The application deadline is set for August 31, 2025.
Interested professionals are encouraged to apply directly at www.mentoro.co by the deadline.
