New Culinary Hotspots Debut in Dallas

Dallas’s dining scene continues to flourish with the recent openings of several exciting culinary establishments, each offering unique flavors and experiences.

One of the most talked-about venues is a newly unveiled cocktail lounge located above the iconic S&D Oyster Company.

This intimate New Orleans-inspired space enchants visitors with its vaulted ceilings, original red brick, and antique details like a mirrored wood-burning fireplace and a balcony overlooking the courtyard.

Led by mixologist Shane Scully, the cocktail menu features remarkable options.

For spice enthusiasts, the Holy Trinity is a standout blend of mezcal, poblano liqueur, and bell pepper Oleo.

The Café Brûlée takes a creative spin on the beloved espresso martini, incorporating brandy, café Amaro, chicory coffee, and spices for a unique taste experience.

Dessert lovers will appreciate the Maison Verte, which is a refreshing and floral concoction combining tequila, house chartreuse, basil eau de vie, and pineapple cordial.

The accompanying food menu is concise yet enticing, offering five carefully curated options.

Diners are particularly raving about the deviled eggs, featuring Creole yolk mousse and truffle pearls, alongside a charcuterie & cheese platter laden with delicious meats, cheeses, and house cornbread.

Patrons are encouraged to return for additional selections, including the intriguing black-eyed pea hummus and steak tartare, as well as the Oyster Co. Martini with a roasted oyster shell vodka.

In addition to the cocktail lounge, the upscale steak and seafood restaurant at the top of Reunion Tower has attracted a loyal following since it opened in 2023.

Known for its stunning 360-degree views and locally sourced steaks, Crown Block has enhanced its sushi offerings with the arrival of Head Sushi Chef Kesao Otake.

Otake, who previously led the sushi program at Anchor Sushi Bar, combines traditional sushi-making techniques with modern influences from French and Italian cuisines.

Among the new sushi selections, the Hokkaido Scallop crudo has gained popularity, featuring honey yuzu sauce, Ossetra caviar, yuzu kosho, and lime zest.

Another highlight is the Summer Roll, which showcases seared salmon, asparagus, and an avocado salad.

The new handrolls are also a must-try, coming in varieties like salmon, yellowtail, spicy tuna, snow crab, and scallop, each priced at $16.

Fans of dessert will be thrilled to discover the Society Party Cake, a towering slice of layered chocolate cake complemented by caramelized banana, milk chocolate mousse, and a dark chocolate glaze—one of the most cherished desserts in Dallas.

Meanwhile, the gastronomic landscape in Bishop Arts continues to expand, with owners of Selda Mediterranean opening a new Greek-focused concept, Elia, in the former Nora space.

This addition follows the popular Turkish cuisine spot, The Mayor’s House by Selda, which quickly captured the hearts of locals.

Elia presents an array of flavorful dishes, starting with the spicy hummus, which is rich in garlic and lemon flavors.

Another notable cold starter is the Pink Sultan, a delightful roasted beet purée served with labneh and walnuts, perfect for sharing alongside fresh pita.

The Saganaki, a pan-fried Greek cheese, serves as an enticing hot starter.

Though the main menu features limited meat choices, its seafood offerings shine, with the salmon souvlaki receiving particular acclaim for its lemon-herb marinade.

Although diners faced a scarcity of desserts during a recent visit, the evening special, a Greek flan, hinted at the sweet delights to come, including hopes for baklava on future visits.

As these new venues establish themselves, Dallas food lovers are guaranteed a vibrant array of culinary experiences.
