Vice President Vance Links Left-Wing Extremism to Charlie Kirk’s Death

Vice President JD Vance hosted Charlie Kirk’s podcast on Monday, addressing the tragic death of Kirk, who was fatally shot at a college campus event in Utah on September 10.

Vance stated that ‘left-wing extremism’ is ‘part of the reason’ for Kirk’s murder.

He emphasized the need for justice for the victim, saying, ‘Of course, we have to make sure that the killer is brought to justice.’

In his remarks, Vance criticized a growing movement of left-wing extremism, linking it to the violence that led to Kirk’s death.

Vance’s comments come as prominent figures, including President Donald Trump, attribute political violence to radical leftist groups, despite attacks targeting both major political parties occurring in recent years.

Following the shooting, FBI Co-Deputy Director Dan Bongino shared insights regarding the suspect arrested for Kirk’s murder, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Bongino claimed that Robinson had an ‘obsession’ with Kirk, tracked his public appearances through online sources, and emphasized that the suspect’s motivation remains unclear.

Law enforcement is actively investigating Robinson’s digital devices and interviewing individuals close to him to gather more evidence regarding his motives.

During the podcast, Vance and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller discussed plans to confront organizations they believe inspire political violence.

‘We’re going to go after the [non-governmental organization] network that foments, facilitates and engages in violence,’ Vance asserted.

He added, ‘That’s not OK. Violence is not OK in our system, and we want to make it less likely that that happens.’

Vance’s remarks included a stark distinction, stating, ‘This is not a both sides problem. If both sides have a problem, then one side has a much bigger and malignant problem, and that is the truth.’

Miller expressed a firm stance while discussing the administration’s approach, declaring the necessity to dismantle any groups perceived as a threat to social order.

He called the situation a ‘vast domestic terror movement’ and committed to using all resources available to combat it through governmental agencies, saying, ‘It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.’

However, Miller did not specify which groups would be targeted in these efforts.

On a related note, Trump discussed ongoing investigations into individuals associated with groups he claims incite political violence.

He noted, ‘They’re already under major investigation. A lot of the people that you would traditionally say are on the left are already under investigation.’

Despite these statements, the president offered no additional details, and no specific actions have been reported from the Justice Department regarding this matter as of yet.

In the aftermath of Kirk’s death, several conservative leaders have urged for consequences against those who publicly mocked or celebrated the tragedy online.

Some individuals have faced termination from their jobs for such social media posts, and Vance encouraged listeners to hold these individuals accountable.

‘When you see someone celebrating Charlie’s murder, call them out. And hell, call their employer,’ Vance advised.

In his concluding remarks, Vance called for truthfulness and vigilance, stating, ‘The best way to honor Charlie is to shine the light of truth like a torch.’

He acknowledged the risks involved in standing up for these values, saying, ‘I can’t promise you this is gonna be easy. Can’t promise you that all of us will avoid Charlie’s fate. Can’t promise you that I will avoid Charlie’s fate.’

Vance emphasized that the legacy of Charlie Kirk should be honored by facing challenging truths and addressing the darkness where it exists.
