Celebrate Bastille Day in North Texas with Food, Fun, and Festivities

Bastille Day is just around the corner, and North Texas is ready to embrace the vibrant celebrations of French culture, liberty, and cuisine.

Whether you’re a devoted Francophile or simply love to indulge in exquisite cheeses, flaky pastries, and fine wines, there’s no shortage of festivities in the area.

From charming Parisian-style cafés to lively street parties, locals have ample opportunities to celebrate la Fête Nationale, all without leaving the comfort of Texas.

La Parisienne French Bistro kicks off the festivities with a four-day celebration from July 11–14.

The bistro, located at 6740 Winning Dr in Frisco, is offering enticing specials such as $7 glasses of house champagne, with an extra pour for those sporting a beret.

On July 14, food lovers can visit Cremcrittos Patisserie in McKinney, where special treats such as coconut croissants, creamy croissants, and kouign-amann, a delightful caramelized pastry similar to a croissant, will be available.

Mercat Bistro, a Michelin-recommended spot in Dallas, invites diners from July 12–14 for a taste of Paris.

Guests can enjoy a special two-course Bastille Brunch for $35 on July 12 and 13, which includes a glass of champagne and themed cocktails.

On July 13, the lawn will feature “Scenes of the Seine,” complete with live French music and caricature artists, while dinner on July 14 will showcase an exclusive Bastille Day tasting menu, perfectly capping off a weekend of festivities.

For families, the Alliance Française de Dallas is hosting a kids’ workshop on July 12 at My French Recipe in Plano.

Young bakers can learn to make classic madeleines and participate in food-themed games and crafts for $60, or $55 for members of the Alliance Française.

Coupes, a chic champagne bar at 4234 Oak Lawn Ave in Dallas, invites patrons to celebrate with 25% off all bottles of wine on July 12.

Alongside this, guests can enjoy delightful Bastille Day crepes while reveling in a nostalgic soundtrack featuring French and Italian funk, disco, and jazz from the ’70s and ’80s.

On July 14, Salut Paris Bakery located at Galleria Dallas, will offer a sweet chance to celebrate with 15% off purchases over $100.

The bakery specializes in buttery croissants and chouquettes, providing a delicious way to mark the occasion.

The highlight of the celebrations, Bastille on Bishop, takes place on July 14 from 6–11 p.m. in the Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff.

This event, now in its 15th year, promises a lively atmosphere featuring a mix of wine, costumes, French cuisine, family activities, and circus-style entertainment, all under the festive cheer of “Vive le 14 juillet!”

It’s widely regarded as one of the city’s most cherished cultural street festivals, attracting crowds eager to experience the essence of French Independence Day.

As the day approaches, North Texas residents have a multitude of exciting options to immerse themselves in the taste and spirit of France, making it an unforgettable celebration of Bastille Day.
