American Express is set to elevate the travel experience for its cardholders with the introduction of a new speakeasy-style lounge, Sidecar, at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) scheduled to open in 2026.
This marks a significant development as American Express will become the only credit card issuer with two lounges at LAS.
Hendley, a representative from American Express, emphasized that Sidecar was designed specifically for travelers who spend less than an hour in lounges.
The first Centurion Lounge opened in Las Vegas in 2013, making it fitting to launch this innovative concept in the same city.
Eligible American Express card members will enjoy complimentary access to Sidecar, allowing them to unwind before their flight departs.
Access to the lounge will be available for travelers within 90 minutes before their flight departure time.
In conjunction with the Sidecar launch, American Express announced a partnership with notable chefs from the James Beard Foundation to create The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge.
Renowned chefs Mashama Bailey, Sarah Grueneberg, Kwame Onwuachi, and Mike Solomonov, along with Bar Director Harrison Ginsberg, will develop a special menu of gourmet dishes and craft cocktails inspired by their acclaimed restaurants.
Starting July 29, these new menu items will be available in all 15 Centurion Lounges across the U.S.
Some dishes will also be offered at Sidecar, providing cardholders with a quick, yet delicious, dining option in the airport.
The menu will include gourmet small plates and signature drinks created by the Culinary Collective, allowing travelers to savor quality cuisine even with limited time.
Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel, stated that card members have a strong appreciation for the food and drinks at Centurion Lounges, and the new partnerships with Resy chefs will enhance the offerings.
She expressed enthusiasm for the collection of culinary talent that will bring exciting new menus to lounge visitors.
The seasonal dishes from the collective will be inspired by local cuisine, creating a unique dining experience tailored to each lounge’s location.
Mike Solomonov remarked on the collaboration’s shared values between the chefs and American Express, particularly focusing on food quality, innovation, and diverse flavors.
American Express’ Centurion Lounge program forms part of the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection, providing cardholders with complimentary access to over 1,550 lounges around the world in 140 countries.
With the opening of Sidecar, American Express continues to innovate and enhance the travel experience for its card members, combining stylish environments and exceptional culinary offerings to create memorable airport visits.
