As part of the 250th anniversary of the first battles of the American Revolution, a week filled with events is set to take place across Massachusetts.
The celebrations include a reenactment of Paul Revere’s ride in Boston on Friday and reenactments of the Battles of Lexington and Concord this weekend.
Dozens of events are planned in Boston, Lexington, Concord, and other Massachusetts communities, showcasing the state’s rich historical legacy.
Governor Maura Healey expressed enthusiasm about the anniversary, stating, “This anniversary is a chance for Massachusetts to remind the world where the fight for liberty began.”
She further emphasized the importance of the weekend, inviting everyone to reflect on the past, honor those who stood for freedom, and celebrate the values that continue to influence today’s democracy.
To guide attendees through the festivities, the Healey-Driscoll Administration released a full “How to Celebrate Patriots’ Day Weekend Guide” detailing the events scheduled throughout the state.

**Wednesday, April 16 – Friday, April 18:**
**Acton:** The Isaac Davis Trail March Commemoration will honor the leader of the Acton Minute Company, who led his men to Concord to join the colonial troops.
**Boston:**
– The Paul Revere’s Ride to Revolution Commemoration will feature a historic tour traveling the Freedom Trail, highlighting Boston’s story as a colonial town on the brink of independence.
– A 250th Anniversary Lantern Service will take place at Old North Church to honor the famous “one if by land, two if by sea” lighting.
– The Lanterns & Luminaries 2025 event at Old North Church will be a unique commemoration featuring filmmaker Ken Burns, who will accept the Third Lantern Award.
– An Evening with Ken Burns presented by the BSO & GBH will include a preview of Burns’s film at Symphony Hall, along with musical performances and behind-the-scenes insights from Burns himself.
**Concord:**
