Fashion, Literature, and Art: A Whirlwind of Events Celebrating Creativity

Fashion Group International (FGI) recently recognized the upcoming generation of designers during an event hosted by the charismatic Tiffany Haddish on the Upper East Side.

Haddish’s humor had the crowd laughing, while also highlighting the ambition and creativity present among attendees, cleverly joking, “Where else can you find so much ambition and creativity held together with Spanx?”

Reflecting on FGI’s illustrious history since 1930, Haddish referenced past honorees such as Elizabeth Arden and Eleanor Roosevelt, continuing her comedic streak by noticing her audience’s reluctance to indulge in their meals.

“I can see some of y’all not eating right now. And hiding a pair of flats under the table. I know your feet hurt,” she quipped, eliciting even more laughter.

FGI President Maryanne Grisz expressed gratitude to Haddish and the “well-heeled” guests for their ongoing support of the industry. Most attendees eventually surrendered to their appetites, with Spanx working overtime.

In literature, author Sarah Hoover took center stage as she promoted her bestselling memoir, “The Motherload: Episodes from the Brink of Motherhood.”

Hosting her at Hebrew Union College was actress Busy Philipps, who shared in Hoover’s celebration, even surprising her with a bottle of wine.

Hoover humorously recounted how Philipps was prepared with a corkscrew, declaring, “This is what mothers do. They are always prepared.”
