Houston’s Weather Outlook: Warm, Humid with Rain Chances Ahead

As we transition further into the week, Houston residents can expect weather similar to what was experienced on Sunday, with a warm and humid pattern persisting through Wednesday.

After that point, daily rain chances are expected to make an appearance, continuing through the upcoming weekend.

Despite the anticipated rain, one constant will be the relatively high temperatures along with the humidity that has characterized recent days.

April is proving to offer sunshine comparable to the peak summer months, as current solar angles approach heights typically seen in early August.

Residents are reminded to take protective measures against sun exposure, especially if planning outdoor activities during midday hours, as sunburn can occur quickly in the prevailing conditions.

Kicking off the week, Monday’s forecast showcases high pressure dominating, resulting in warm and humid conditions lasting several days.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach the mid-80s with partly cloudy skies, accompanied by brisk southerly winds at 15 mph and gusts reaching 25 mph.

Rain chances are virtually non-existent throughout the day, and overnight lows will settle around 70 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

On Tuesday, expect more of the same as temperatures may rise slightly from Monday’s highs, remaining in comfortable territory, typically a degree or two higher.

High pressure continues to be the driving force, leading to negligible rain possibilities once again.

The weather pattern shifts on Wednesday as a cool front approaches the region, although forecasts suggest it will likely stall north of the metropolitan area.

While there is a slight chance the front could push further into Houston, the prevailing expectation is for scattered showers to develop in the afternoon and evening — more likely north of Interstate 10.

High temperatures on Wednesday will hover in the mid-80s with mostly cloudy conditions and persistent southerly winds.

No significant drop in nighttime temperatures is anticipated from the front’s approach.

Looking ahead to Thursday and Friday, clearer skies could allow high temperatures to climb further, ranging from the upper 80s to 90 degrees across most areas.

Evenings will remain warm with lows around 70 degrees, though afternoon and evening showers may persist due to daily heating and lingering moisture in the atmosphere.

While high temperatures are expected with certainty, the rainfall predictions remain less concrete.

As the weekend approaches, moisture in the air means daily rain chances will hover between 30 and 50 percent.

With some cloud cover, high temperatures may slightly dip back to the mid-80s, alongside continued nighttime temperatures around the 70-degree mark.

Expect humidity levels to rise, making it feel muggy, although not as oppressive as it often does in the summer months.

Moreover, there is emerging data from weather models suggestive of another system that could enhance rain chances by the middle of next week.

Given that this system is approximately ten days away, further predictions may be subject to considerable changes and uncertainties.
