Federal authorities have arrested two Dallas men in connection with a significant methamphetamine trafficking operation, revealing the violent lengths to which these suspects would go to protect their illicit activities.
Andres Saucedo, Jr., was arrested on June 4 after being targeted in a federal investigation. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Saucedo opened fire on an undercover FBI agent when the officer attempted to intervene during a robbery involving methamphetamine.
The investigation revealed that Saucedo and his accomplice, Angel Flores, were part of a broader network importing and distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and heroin, originating from a drug trafficking organization based in Mexico.
Details from a criminal complaint filed June 3 outline how Flores sold undercover agents a kilogram of heroin for $7,200 in late 2024. The drug trade executed by Flores, Saucedo, and their associates persisted until Flores’s arrest on May 21.
In a particularly brazen act, the duo orchestrated a plan to sell two kilograms of methamphetamine on May 20, just a day before Flores’s eventual capture by FBI SWAT. The investigation further revealed their conspiracy to rob another trafficker of 30 to 40 kilograms of methamphetamine on May 19.
While overseeing the robbery plot, agents learned that Saucedo and Flores had become aware of their surveillance activities. In an attempt to ambush the watching agents, they devised a trap where co-conspirators would attack federal officials.
Before reaching the ambush location, Saucedo reportedly fired a weapon at an undercover FBI Task Force Officer, who was collaborating with the Dallas Police Department in the OCDETF North Texas Strike Force. Fortunately, the agent was not injured during this incident but deemed it necessary to halt surveillance for safety reasons.
Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux commented on the importance of collaboration between local and federal law enforcement. “The Dallas Police Department could not be more proud of the dedication demonstrated by our department and our federal partners in this case. These joint task forces and collaborations are essential in keeping our community and its members safe,” Comeaux stated.
Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy E. Larson emphasized the dangers presented by drug trafficking operations. “We are fighting drug trafficking on multiple dangerous fronts, as demonstrated by this case,
” Larson said. “Beyond the tragic effects of illegal drugs that flood our communities, drug traffickers unleash significant violence on each other, in our neighborhoods, and against law enforcement officers attempting to stop them. The full prosecution of those involved in the drug trade and the violence they bring is a top priority for our safety.”
Both Saucedo and Flores are facing serious charges, including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and assaulting a federal agent with a deadly weapon. The crimes committed by Flores were also documented in a complaint filed in May 2025.
Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Dallas Field Division, Eduardo A. Chávez, reiterated that assaulting a federal agent will not be tolerated. “Assaulting a Federal Agent can never be tolerated and undermines the very fabric of our ability to conduct drug investigations safely and effectively,
” he stated. “We do our jobs to make our community safer, and we will use every tool available to investigate and prosecute those who feel violent acts against our agents are held accountable.”
If convicted, both men could face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, reflecting the serious nature of their crimes and the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
