Members of the media are invited to cover the grand celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, scheduled to take place on June 14, 2025 at the National Mall in Washington D.C.

The day’s festivities will kick off with an Army Fitness Competition starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by the opening of festival exhibits at 11 a.m. The festival will feature various engaging activities, allowing attendees to interact with Soldiers, Army astronauts, NFL representatives, and Medal of Honor recipients.

Among the highlights of the event will be military demonstrations, equipment displays, and a ceremonial cake cutting. Participants will have a plethora of activities to choose from throughout the day.

Press representatives have access to both the fitness event and the public exhibits. Those who registered for the parade are automatically registered for the festival, while those who haven’t registered for the parade can still access the festivities without credentials.

Media personnel can arrive as early as 8 a.m. and should enter through the festival entrance located at the intersection of 7th St. SW and Jefferson St. SW. The first stop for media will be the Media Operations Center (Tent #48), situated behind the main stage. From there, reporters will be directed to the media tents (Tents #43 and #44).

Throughout the festival, Soldiers, historians in uniform, and various experts will be available for interviews, offering the media valuable insights into the Army’s storied history.

Beginning at 2 p.m., the media will have the opportunity to transition from the festival to the parade via a pedestrian checkpoint located at 14th St. NW, south of Constitution Ave. NW.

For the general public, the screening checkpoint for parade access will open at 2 p.m. on 14th Street between Constitution and Independence Avenue, and on C Street NW between 18th and 19th Street.

At 6:30 p.m., the Army Birthday Parade will commence, celebrating the rich history of the Army. This grand event will feature Army equipment, impressive flyovers, and a demonstration involving 6,700 Soldiers, who will display uniforms from both past and present.

Concluding the day will be a reenlistment and enlistment ceremony, a stunning parachute demonstration by the Golden Knights, and a spectacular fireworks display.

It’s important to note that all media access for the parade is regulated by the America250 Commission. Those who did not request parade access ahead of time may still attend as general public members. For further inquiries regarding press access to the parade, they can contact [email protected].

Weather conditions are being closely monitored in the lead-up to the event, though no significant changes have been made at this time. Any updates will be communicated by either the Army or the America250 Commission.
