Jon Jones Announces New Role as Chief Performance Officer Following Retirement from MMA

Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history, has made headlines with a dramatic career shift just two days after announcing his retirement from the sport.

On Saturday, UFC President Dana White revealed Jones’s retirement during a press event at UFC Baku, prompting the 37-year-old fighter to confirm the end of his illustrious career.

Although Jones had previously mentioned aspirations of becoming an actor following his departure from the Octagon, he has now opted to enter the business world instead.

In a surprising move on Monday, Jones announced his new role as Chief Performance Officer at Ketone IQ, a company renowned for its innovative ketone ester drink designed to enhance energy and focus without sugar or caffeine.

On his Instagram account, Jones expressed his excitement about this new venture, stating, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce my new position at @ketone as their Chief Performance Officer.”

He continued, “It’s been great in the cage, but I want my true legacy to be the way that I conduct business, putting my best foot forward in everything that I do.

“Ketone-IQ has been a game-changer in my daily life, giving me more mental clarity, focus, and fuel to take me through each and every day.

“I believe in it so much that I became a co-owner of the company. Try it, this stuff slaps.”

Jones’s retirement announcement came after a series of contemplative moments regarding his future in MMA, despite a potential fight with Tom Aspinall being on the table.

Ultimately, the prospect did not excite him enough to continue his fighting career.

In his retirement statement, Jones reflected on his journey in the sport, stating, “Today, I’m officially announcing my retirement from the UFC. This decision comes after a lot of reflection, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the journey I’ve experienced over the years.”

He emphasized his impressive achievements, mentioning, “From the first time I stepped into the Octagon, my goal was to push the boundaries of what was possible in this sport.

Becoming the youngest UFC champion in history, defending my title against some of the best fighters in the world, and sharing unforgettable moments with fans across the globe—these are memories I’ll cherish forever.”

Jones acknowledged both the highs and lows of his career, noting, “I’ve faced incredible highs and some tough lows, but every challenge has taught me something valuable and made me stronger, both as a fighter and as a person.”

He extended his gratitude to the UFC, Dana White, Hunter Campbell, Lorenzo Fertitta, his family, coaches, teammates, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.

“To my fellow fighters, thank you for bringing out the best in me and for the respect we’ve shared inside and outside the cage.

As I close this chapter of my life, I look forward to new opportunities and challenges ahead,” Jones stated.

Jon Jones concluded by expressing excitement for the future, indicating that while MMA will always be a part of him, he looks forward to contributing to the sport and inspiring others in new and innovative ways.
