A striking street art mural gallery is hidden away in one of Los Angeles’ tallest buildings, the US Bank Tower.
This architectural wonder doesn’t only boast the highest restaurant west of the Mississippi and the third highest helipad in the United States; it also serves as a canvas for remarkable street art celebrating Angeleno pride.
Silverstein Properties, the building’s owner, recently provided Secret Los Angeles with an exclusive preview of this unique artistic space.
The gallery emerged as part of the Skyhigh DTLA project launched by Silverstein Properties in 2022, aimed at reconnecting with the community’s vibrant culture.
Fifteen talented street artists came together to express their love for Los Angeles, creating an expansive showcase of art set against breathtaking views from nearly 1,000 feet in the air.
Muralists have adorned not only the walls but also the floors and pillars throughout the venue, making it a true artistic experience.
The featured artists include notable names such as Alejandro Poli Jr. aka Man One, Angel Guznay aka Misteralek, Beau Stanton, Casey Courey Pickering, Debi Cable, Elliot Klein aka Elliot nes, Erin Michelle aka Haus of Emichi, Iker Muro, Jayson Valencia, Lauren YS, Mary Lai, Nora Martin Hall, Paloma Melendez aka Paloma Arciniega, Quentin Thomas aka Shplinton, Raziel Gonzalez aka eadwerd, and Sophie Mazzaro.
While some of the pieces have already been purchased privately, the artworks continue to impress visitors despite the limited accessibility of the space.
Initially located on the 72nd floor, the gallery was subsequently moved down to the 61st floor after a tenant leased the upper space.
Though the 61st floor is typically off-limits to the public, it is used for tenant events, private occasions, and filming.
Interestingly, Silverstein Properties features a similar gallery at the World Trade Center in New York City, demonstrating the company’s commitment to showcasing art in urban spaces.
For those eager to see the gallery, opportunities are scarce unless you are a tenant of the building.
One remarkable occasion is the annual charity stair climb hosted in collaboration with the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA.
During this event, around 4,000 participants conquer 1,664 steps from the lobby to the rooftop, gaining access to stunning views.
The climb totals a height of 1,005 feet, making it the tallest stairwell west of the Mississippi River.
According to event representatives, this stair climb serves as the YMCA’s largest fundraising event, generating nearly $700,000 to support programs such as education and childcare for underserved youth in Los Angeles.
At the conclusion of the climb, participants reach the 75th floor roof, where they receive a crown.
Afterward, they typically descend to the recovery space on the 61st floor, where they can enjoy refreshments provided by the YMCA and, potentially, catch a glimpse of the stunning murals.
The next stair climb is set for Friday, September 26, 2025, with registration opening on July 1, 2025.
Location: 633 West Fifth Street, Los Angeles, CA 90071.
