In a significant effort to advance environmental and social responsibility, Inter Miami CF partnered with Fracht Group for a special Earth Day initiative. This collaboration seeks to create a meaningful and sustainable impact in the community of Miami.
On the occasion of Earth Day, the organizations joined forces to plant 15 native plants, including Pigeon Plum trees, Bahama Tabebuia trees, and Cocoplum shrubs. This effort took place along The Underline, a 10-mile linear park and public art destination located beneath Miami’s Metrorail.
The initiative emphasizes replenishing local ecosystems that are vital for transportation and community well-being. The Underline, still in its early stages of development, is committed to restoring urban biodiversity by repurposing neglected land.
Inter Miami and Fracht Group’s partnership aligns perfectly with The Underline’s mission, which aims to inspire future generations of environmental leaders. The organizations share a vision of generational empowerment and sustainable development, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration.
Angelica Rufin, Communications and Relations Executive for Fracht Group, stated, “In partnership with Inter Miami CF, we are united in our mission to make a lasting impact—with sustainability at the heart of our efforts. The trees planted today symbolize our commitment to nurturing the world beyond the field and contributing to something greater.”
She emphasized that commemorating Earth Day through such initiatives highlights the shared vision between Fracht Group and Inter Miami CF—“One Team, One Goal, One Earth.”
Camila Jocelyn-Holt, Director of Community Engagement at Inter Miami CF, expressed their excitement in taking steps toward a greener planet. She said, “We are honored to be here today with Fracht Group, taking our mission of creating a greener planet one step further this Earth Day. Our environment supports us daily in ways that are often unrecognized, and we are overjoyed that we could give some of that nourishment back to The Underline today.”
The tree planting at The Underline is just the beginning of Inter Miami CF and Fracht Group’s commitment to honoring Earth Day this year. The partnership will continue their efforts during the upcoming Fracht Group’s One Planet Theme Night, coinciding with Inter Miami’s home match against FC Dallas on Sunday, April 27.
Tickets for the match are available for purchase now, providing fans an opportunity to support sustainability while enjoying the game. Additionally, the annual One Planet initiative by MLS will feature One Planet jerseys made from recycled materials for all clubs.
During the One Planet Theme Night, for every Inter Miami CF One Planet pre-match jersey purchased, $5 will be donated to the Arbor Day Foundation to further support Earth Day initiatives.
Fans are also invited to participate in the One Planet Sweepstakes presented by Fracht Group for a chance to win two tickets to the FC Dallas match or a signed One Planet pre-match jersey by select Inter Miami CF players.
