Get ready for a vibrant celebration of Mexican American culture in Houston as the city gears up for Cinco de Mayo festivities from Friday, May 2, to Monday, May 5, 2025.

This annual event commemorates the Mexican army’s pivotal victory over France in 1862, and in the United States, it has become a symbol of cultural celebration.

In Houston, the long weekend is an opportunity for the community to engage in a rich tapestry of traditions that highlight Mexican American culture through music, food, and various festive activities.

The Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Houston are packed with a wide array of events designed to entertain individuals and families alike.

To kick off the celebrations, Giant Texas Distillers will host a remarkable two-day party on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, featuring bold flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and live music from Kevin Castillo.

Both days, festivities commence at 11 AM and run until 1 PM, offering a perfect start to the weekend.

For families looking for a hands-on experience, Art Cellar Houston will conduct a DIY Piñata Making class, guided by instructors who will lead participants through the colorful world of piñata crafting.

This event will take place on Saturday, May 3, from 9 AM to 11 AM, and admission is priced at $30.

Music lovers won’t want to miss the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Miller Outdoor Theatre, showcasing the popular ska band Inspector on Saturday night, May 3, at 8 PM, entrance is free.
