OneTrust Establishes Permanent Roots with New Atlanta Headquarters

In a bid to solidify its commitment to Atlanta, OneTrust has taken a bold step by etching its name in stone inside its luxurious new headquarters.

CEO and co-founder Kabir Barday emphasized the significance of this decision, stating, “That’s permanence and confidence.”

Situated along the dynamic Beltline Eastside trail, OneTrust’s new 74,000-square-foot office is part of the Fourth Ward development, which also features Mailchimp as a major tenant.

Both OneTrust and Mailchimp are considered unicorns in the tech sector, having surpassed billion-dollar valuations and contributing to Atlanta’s growing reputation as a tech hub.

Founded in 2016, OneTrust quickly distinguished itself as the fastest-growing private company in the U.S. by 2020, according to Inc. magazine.

The company’s focus on data security and privacy has resonated with a wide array of businesses, helping it amass over 1,400 clients worldwide.

With approximately 2,000 employees globally, OneTrust has nearly a quarter of its workforce stationed in its new Atlanta location, which reflects its broad international influence.

Local flair is evident throughout the headquarters; for instance, a snack stand prominently features Coca-Cola to represent Atlanta.

Meeting rooms celebrate the global reach of OneTrust, being named after various cities from Cape Town to Bengaluru.

The design of the headquarters aligns with contemporary workplace trends aimed at making the office a desirable place for commuting professionals.

It offers a diverse range of seating areas, meeting spaces, and an expansive outdoor area, all conveniently located along the Beltline.

OneTrust’s leaders anticipate that the amenities and ambiance of the new office will not only attract but also help retain top talent.

Barday noted the company’s mantra of a “bear hug,” advocating for the importance of keeping skilled employees once they are acquired.

Michael Schanker, the company’s chief marketing officer, echoed this sentiment, pointing to Atlanta’s burgeoning tech scene and its educational institutions as vital resources for fostering future startups.

“This area should attract other tech companies,” Schanker remarked. “We want to build this ecosystem. We don’t want to be the only one.”

The Fourth Ward development, crafted by New City Properties, ranks among the largest on the Beltline, featuring office towers, residential buildings, and the Forth hotel.

Barday described the Beltline as the new focal point for Atlanta, moving away from the traditional divides of ‘inside the perimeter’ (ITP) and ‘outside the perimeter’ (OTP).

He stated, “The future of Atlanta is OTB: On the Beltline.”

OneTrust has committed to a 10-year lease for its new headquarters, though specific financial details about the agreement remain undisclosed.

When questioned about rental costs, Barday simply characterized the space as “premium.”

In a nod to modern office trends, OneTrust has incorporated some classic amenities, including a hidden speakeasy-style bar, discreetly positioned behind a wall of patents.

This thoughtful arrangement underscores Barday’s philosophy that hard work should precede leisure activities.

“We’re a serious workplace,” he said, “and we have fun when we’ve earned it for the right reasons.”
