As the month of May comes to a close, Texas is buzzing with exciting LGBTQ events to celebrate Pride and community engagement.
On May 31, Miss Gay Texas State 2025 Mary Anne Somers will host Denton Pride Fest at Harvest House in Denton. The festival runs from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., with vendors opening at 4 p.m. A highlight of the evening will be a drag show starting at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Miss Gay Texas State Pageant Systems and its 2025 beneficiary organizations.
Also on May 31, the annual No Tie event organized by AIDS Services of Dallas will take place at Empire Room at 7 p.m. This popular fundraising event promises a night of good food and entertainment, helping support local initiatives aimed at combatting HIV/AIDS.
The Pride Mesquite Family Festival will also be happening the same day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paschall Park in Mesquite, providing fun and family-friendly activities to promote community inclusivity. Attendees can check the Facebook event page for more details as the date approaches.
For those in the Sherman area, the Grayson Pride will host ‘Enchanted Evening: A Celebration of Pride and Magic’ from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom. Visitors can find ticket information on the event’s Zeffy.com page.
Fans of gaming can join Tyler Area Gays+ for their monthly TAG+ Game Night at the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce at 6:30 p.m. on May 31.
In addition to the festivities, the DFW Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will present ‘Hell On Heels: The Ultimate Red Dress Extravaganza’ from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Dallas Eagle, with proceeds benefiting the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund.
Throughout the weekend, the Oddities and Curiosities Expo will be taking place on May 31 and June 1 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. This unique event will showcase hundreds of vendors and artists offering quirky and unusual items.
On May 31, the SPCA of Texas will host a Family Volunteer Day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at their facilities, as community members come together for a good cause.
Additionally, Pride in Dallas will present the second annual ‘Drink of Pride’ competition at Sue Ellen’s starting at 3 p.m. This event will see top bartenders from Oak Lawn competing to create the next signature cocktail of the season, with proceeds benefiting The Parade on Cedar Springs in September.
The beginning of June also promises a wealth of events. On June 1, the McKinney Pride Fair and Festival will kick off at Dr. Glenn Mitchell Memorial Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event will set the tone for the start of Pride Month, welcoming the local community to celebrate.
On June 2, a virtual panel titled ‘To Have and To Hold’ will be hosted by Family Equality, featuring Jim Obergefell and a group of policy experts discussing the importance of LGBTQ family voices in the movement for marriage equality.
Wine lovers can look forward to the Cedar Springs Wine Walk on June 5, which will feature amazing wine samples along Cedar Springs and begin at 6 p.m.
Later that same evening, the Gay & Lesbian Fund of Dallas will join the SPCA of Texas PAWS League for a Pride Happy Hour starting at 6 p.m. at JR’s Bar & Grill.
On June 6, GDMAF will present MetroBall 18 at S4, where attendees can enjoy an evening filled with entertainment from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Another highlight comes with Bruce Wood Dance Dallas closing its 15th anniversary season with ‘Echoes’ at Moody Performance Hall from June 6 to June 8.
A fascinating exhibition titled ‘Badge of Pride: From Silence…to Celebration’ will run from June 6 to September 28 at the Irving Archives and Museum, highlighting significant LGBTQ history.
On June 7, attendees will have the opportunity to explore faith-related discussions at ‘Faith vs. Force’ taking place at the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Book lovers can enjoy a meet-and-greet with Dallas-based queer authors Robert Stahl and Kerry Shatzer at Barnes & Noble in Garland from noon to 3 p.m. on June 7, where both authors will showcase their works.
In Carrollton, the Carrollton Pride Festival will occur on June 7 at the Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church at 11 a.m., promoting community connection and celebration.
The following day, June 8, ‘The Rainbow Riviera’ event will take place at The Statler Dallas starting at 2 p.m. This Hot Girl Summer-themed event at the rooftop pool is set to be a vibrant gathering.
On June 12, Dogs Matter will celebrate its Tails of Triumph Legacy at VOUV from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., allowing community members to honor the organization’s contributions.
June 13 will feature Gay Pride Shabbat at Congregation Beth El Binah, highlighting the holiday with a speech from Rabbi Denise Eger. This event will begin at 7:30 p.m.
From June 13 to July 20, enjoy performances of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ at the Wyly Theatre.
Additionally, on June 14, STRUT Dallas will host a Pride Tea Dance featuring Raja from RuPaul’s Drag Race at Round-Up Saloon from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The much-anticipated Dallas Pride celebration will take place at Fair Park starting at 10 a.m. on June 14. The same day, Arlington Pride will also host celebrations at Levitt Pavilion from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
