A unique photographic exhibition titled “The Lost Weekend – The Photography of May Pang” will take place at The O Museum in the Mansion from June 27 to June 29, 2025.
This exhibition offers fans a rare glimpse into the life of John Lennon, seen through the lens of May Pang, who had an intimate relationship with the music legend during one of his most creative periods.
The exhibition will feature a collection of candid photographs taken by Pang during the 18-month period known as the “Lost Weekend,” which spanned late 1973 through 1975.
These photographs capture Lennon in a relaxed and comfortable environment, showcasing a side of him that few have experienced.
Taking place from Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29, admission to the exhibit is free with the purchase of a Museum Tour Admission.
All works displayed will be available for purchase, providing fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of Lennon’s history as seen through Pang’s eyes.
Notably, May Pang will be present for all three days of the exhibition, allowing attendees to meet her and hear firsthand stories about the photographs and her time with Lennon.
The “Lost Weekend” was a transformative period for Lennon, as he collaborated with a range of iconic artists including Elton John, David Bowie, and Ringo Starr.
During this time, he produced several significant albums like “Mind Games,” “Walls and Bridges,” and “Rock and Roll.”
One of his singles, “Whatever Gets You Through the Night,” became his only #1 hit, highlighting the commercial success of this phase.
Pang’s influence extended beyond music, as she encouraged Lennon to reconnect with his family and friends, facilitating a reunion with Paul McCartney that resulted in a memorable jam session.
She also played a key role in arranging a visit for Julian Lennon, John Lennon’s son, to see his father after a long separation.
An iconic photograph of Julian Lennon taken by Pang even graces the cover of Julian’s latest album entitled “Jude.”
The exhibition will also include rare images, such as the only known photograph of Lennon signing the contract to dissolve the Beatles, a pivotal moment in music history.
Additionally, it features one of the last photographs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney together, taken on March 29, 1974, which has not been publicly available until now.
Fans will have the chance to experience an intimate look at this remarkable chapter in Lennon’s life.
May Pang’s contributions to Lennon’s personal and professional life are evidenced in her works, which include three published books detailing her experiences: “Loving John,” “John Lennon – The Lost Weekend,” and “Instamatic Karma,” all featuring photographs from her private archives.
The exhibition coincides with the digital release of the feature film documentary titled “The Lost Weekend: A Love Story,” which explores the relationship between May Pang and John Lennon.
The documentary is now available for streaming on platforms such as Amazon Prime, AppleTV, YouTube, Xfinity, Verizon, and Vudu.
