Spike in Homicides in Dallas Raises Concerns Among Residents and Officials

In the first 20 days of June, Dallas has experienced a troubling surge in violence, with at least 11 homicides reported across the city.

The murders have taken place in ten separate incidents, claiming the lives of individuals aged between 19 and 73, from diverse neighborhoods such as Pleasant Grove and Deep Ellum.

While law enforcement has made arrests in the majority of these cases, four homicides remain unsolved, prompting urgent calls for action from concerned residents.

City leaders have yet to publicly address the escalation of violence, which has left many citizens feeling alarmed about their safety.

### Homicide Cases with Arrests

The Dallas Police Department has provided details on several homicide cases with arrests.

On June 2, Olivia Leann Rodriguez, a 30-year-old woman, was found unresponsive in her residence on Forest Lane.

Teray Montrell Sam, 33, has been arrested and charged with her murder.

### Homicides Still Under Investigation

Several other homicide cases are currently being investigated.

On June 15, Jose Rodriguez-Lucio, 32, was found unresponsive in the 200 block of South Hall Street and pronounced dead at the scene.

Two individuals were shot on June 18 on the Marvin D Love Freeway at around 2:40 a.m.

While one victim died, the other was hospitalized.
