Highlights of July 2025: Must-Attend Events Across the Region

As summer heats up, July 2025 promises an array of vibrant events that cater to diverse interests, ranging from cultural festivities to thrilling concerts. Attendees can engage in a variety of experiences that celebrate music, arts, and community.

Kicking off the month from July 2 to July 7, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival invites visitors to immerse themselves in the theme of ‘Youth and the Future of Culture.’ This annual celebration showcases the creativity and projects led by teens, featuring music, films, discussions, and various forms of youth expression. The events take place on the National Mall between Ninth and 14th streets in Washington, DC, and are free to the public.

The highlight of July 4th will undoubtedly be the Cowboy Carter Tour at Northwest Stadium, featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Beyoncé. Known for her powerful vocals and electrifying stage presence, fans can anticipate an unforgettable experience when she performs on this date and again on July 7. Tickets start at $547, reflecting the demand for the show.

Another July 4th celebration worth attending is Great Meadow’s Fourth of July Celebration, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. Located at 5089 Old Tavern Rd. in The Plains, the event offers family-friendly games, an air show, polo exhibitions, and a spectacular fireworks display, with tickets starting at $62 per car.

For those interested in cultural heritage, July 5 will feature the West African Cultural Heritage Night at Ossian Hall Park in Annandale. On the same day, the classic play ‘Servant of Two Masters’ will be performed by student performers at Tysons Corner Center Plaza. Celebrations continue on July 12 with the Alexandria & USA Birthday Celebration, which commemorates both Alexandria’s 276th birthday and the United States’ 249th. Taking place at Oronoco Bay Park, attendees can expect live music, food and drink vendors, culminating in a fireworks display over the Potomac River at 9:30 p.m. The event is free to attend, making it a fantastic family outing.

That same day, music fans can attend the Brotherhood of Rock Tour featuring Styx and Kevin Cronin, along with special guest Don Felder. The concert at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow celebrates 25 years of musical camaraderie and showcases some of rock’s most iconic tunes. Tickets start at just $30, promising an affordable night of entertainment.

July 17 will be a special day for Star Wars enthusiasts as the National Symphony Orchestra performs a live rendition of ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ at Wolf Trap in Vienna. Audience members can experience the beloved film with a musical score that enhances iconic moments, making it a must-see for fans. Tickets for this unique event start at $57.

For family fun, the Loudoun County Fair scheduled from July 22 to 26 offers carnival rides, rodeos, magic shows, and live music. With added thrill rides like Zeus and Flash Dance, the fair will be an enjoyable outing for all ages, with admission starting at $16.50 for adults and $5.75 for kids.
