Impact Arts Presents Summer Stock Austin 2025 Sneak Peek Event

Impact Arts is set to host an exciting one-night only event, titled the Summer Stock Austin 2025 Sneak Peek, on July 18 at the McCullough Theatre.

This unique event will feature a vibrant showcase of talent, including alumni from Summer Stock Austin, as well as emerging performers.

The Sneak Peek is designed to honor young artists and the innovative work they are crafting, celebrating the energy that makes Summer Stock Austin truly exceptional.

Alumni guest artists such as Donelvan Thigpen, Sara Burke, and Coy Branscum will join a remarkable company of over 75 high school and college performers.

Attendees can also look forward to a special presentation from the youngest Summer Stock Austin performers, aged 9-12, offering a delightful glimpse into the upcoming lineup with performances featuring songs and dance numbers from the beloved musicals Mary Poppins and Jesus Christ Superstar.

In addition to these highlights, audiences can enjoy performances of iconic musical numbers from classics including Les Misérables, Kinky Boots, Anastasia, Tarzan, Hello, Dolly!, Hair, and more.

These selections are all potential productions as Summer Stock Austin gears up for its next chapter.

Guests at the event will have the chance to participate in interactive games and giveaways, using their phones to engage in live voting on past SSA shows they would like to see revived.

This interactive experience promises not only to connect attendees with the Impact Arts story in real time but also aids in building a creative home for the next generation of artists.

Donelvan Thigpen, Co-Founder of Impact Arts, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I can’t think of a better way to kick off our summer than with the Season Sneak Peek.

It’s a high-energy night that celebrates our amazing cast and creative team, gives a first look at our shows, and offers a fun glimpse into what we’re dreaming up for the future.

It’s going to be a blast!”

The Summer Stock Austin 2025 season, in partnership with Texas Performing Arts, includes two major productions.

These are the family musical Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, which is based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film, and the 1977 rock opera classic Jesus Christ Superstar, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

This year, alumni guest artists will join the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar, adding a layer of depth to the production.

Live performances for both shows will run in rotating schedules starting July 24 and continuing through August 10, 2025, with the much-anticipated one-night only Season Sneak Peek event slated for July 18.

Directed by Ginger Morris and Coy Branscum, the Summer Stock Austin 2025 Season Sneak Peek is sure to leave audiences eager for what’s to come.

Mary Poppins will be directed by Deonte Warren, with musical direction by Warren himself and choreography by Barrett Davis, along with associate choreography by Noah Wood.

For Jesus Christ Superstar, the directing team includes Ginger Morris and Greg Almanza, with musical direction by Adam Roberts and choreography by Ginger Morris, Sara Burke, and Noah Wood.

Having celebrated its 21st season while now operating under the umbrella of Impact Arts, Summer Stock Austin continues to serve as both a production company and an educational training program.

It provides invaluable opportunities for high school and college students to train, perform, and engage in all aspects of theatre and film production, all in a fast-paced professional environment – tuition-free.

The program culminates in high-caliber, fully staged musical theatre productions aimed at family audiences.
