Celebrate America’s Birthday with Exciting Events in Los Angeles

As America prepares to celebrate its 249th birthday, Los Angeles is gearing up for a vibrant lineup of events from July 4th to July 6th.

From cultural festivities to dazzling fireworks, the city of Angels promises to bring the celebration to life this Independence Day.

A host of activities will take place across L.A., including First Fridays in Chinatown, an Americana Celebration at the International Printing Museum, HULU Summer Sunday Movies, the 4th of July fireworks in Marina del Rey, an All-American Cruise-In at The Petersen, and much more.

**Explore Community Events and Concerts**

Chinatown First Fridays will kick off the weekend celebrations with an evening of exploration.

Every first Friday of the month, L.A.’s Chinatown is open late to allow visitors to discover local small businesses and contemporary art spaces.

From 5 to 10 p.m., West Plaza and Chungking Road will feature local pop-up vendors, live DJ music, and extended hours at neighborhood art galleries.

Additionally, the Damnoen Saduak Night Market will be hosted at Central Plaza.

These activations are free to attend, providing a great opportunity for families and friends to gather.

Patrons can take the A Line to Chinatown Station to join in on the festivities.

Anime Expo, running from Thursday to Sunday at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is another highlight for fans of the animated genre.

With four full days filled with meet-and-greets, panels, workshops, and interactive experiences, it is a must-visit for anime enthusiasts.

Tickets are available at $197.65 for a four-day pass or starting at $92 for a single day ticket.

Music lovers can enjoy free jazz concerts at LACMA’s weekly series, taking place every Friday.

This week features a fusion of experimental and contemporary jazz by Katalyst in the Smidt Welcome Plaza at 6 p.m.

LACMA also offers free admission to L.A. County residents with an ID on weekdays after 3 p.m.

In addition, Shakespeare in the Park will enchant audiences at Griffith Park this summer.

From July 2 to July 27, the Independent Shakespeare Co. presents performances of “Love’s Labour’s Lost” from Wednesday to Sunday.

Each performance starts at 7 p.m.

Please note, there will be no performance on July 4th.

**Celebrate Independence with Fireworks**

Fireworks will light up the skies across different locations in L.A. on the Fourth of July.

Marina del Rey will host its annual fireworks show, presenting a spectacular 20-minute display over the water starting at 9 p.m.

Burton Chace Park will serve as a prime viewing spot for those who wish to attend, with free access to all.

Meanwhile, the City of Torrance will also feature a fireworks show at the Torrance Civic Center.

The event offers limited attendance on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m.

The fireworks will begin at 8:45 p.m.

For a lively atmosphere, Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza will take place at Warner Ranch Park.

This massive event promises a tribute performance by Strange Days, a tribute to The Doors.

Attendees can also indulge in over a dozen food trucks and enjoy a fireworks display after sundown.

Expect a large crowd, as the park accommodates up to 40,000 attendees and the event is free to enter.

In the morning, those eager for some early celebrations can head to Santa Monica for the annual Fourth of July Parade.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m., the parade routes from Pico and Main Street southwards on Main, concluding at Barnard Way.

The event is free for spectators.

Culver City also joins in to celebrate with an 80’s themed Independence Celebration on Saturday.

This community event will feature live music and a special drone light show, running from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

**Cultural and Family Friendly Events**

LACMA is set to continue their Latin Sounds concert series this Saturday evening.

This outdoor concert in Hancock Park will feature a performance by Katalyst, running from 5 to 7 p.m.

Free admission provides a great reason to enjoy a night out filled with music.

Street Food Cinema will bring its outdoor movie series to The Autry on Saturday night, screening “The Princess Bride.”

General Admission tickets are available from $22, with doors opening at 6 p.m.

Join the Americana Celebration at the International Printing Museum in Carson.

This event on Saturday will celebrate the 4th of July with live printing demos, hands-on activities, museum tours, and a vintage car show.

Visitors will have the chance to print their very own copy of the Declaration of Independence while enjoying live music.

General admission for this family-friendly event is $12, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

the HULU Sunday Summer Movies series at SLS Hotel offers a unique cinema experience on Sunday evenings through August 31.

With a chic rooftop setting, moviegoers can enjoy classic rom-coms and cult favorites, kicking off with “The Sandlot.”

Tickets are priced at $45, which includes a credit for food and drinks.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and movies start at 8 p.m.

Reservations are recommended as limited tickets will be available at the door until 7:30 p.m.

Car enthusiasts are invited to the Petersen Automotive Museum for the All-American Cruise-In on Sunday.

This celebration will pay tribute to 60 years of the Shelby GT350 and the Cobra 427, showcasing hundreds of cars and motorcycles.

The day will feature a panel discussion with automotive legends.

Food will be available from Pink’s Hot Dogs, and the event is free to attend.

Manila Sound will host an event at Benny Boy Brewing in Lincoln Heights this Sunday.

This Filipino-American creative collective will gather local vendors, music, food, and DJ sets showcasing Original Filipino Music from 4 to 9 p.m.

Entry is free but is 21+ only.

From July 6th to July 18th, they will serve crispy chicken karaage topped with Paddlefish caviar for $48.

Happy hour is available all day Sunday through Wednesday, offering half-off glasses of bubbles and various delightful menu options.

Smorgasburg’s Ice Cream Alley will kick off its season-long celebration of frozen treats on July 6th.

The event will feature a variety of ice cream vendors offering everything from affogatos to unique flavors, running every Sunday through August 31.

For the Fourth of July, BOA Steakhouse will host an all-night happy hour starting at 5 p.m.

Guests can savor a variety of appetizers, including oysters, ceviche, and signature burgers, with margaritas priced at just $8.
