On Thursday, April 17, at Polaris Hall, Nashville band Snõõper will take the stage, bringing a surge of energy inspired by the playful absurdity of eggpunk and Devo-core music. Known for their interactive performances that often feature live papier-mâché puppets, including a giant bug mascot, Snõõper promises a captivating show that can only be enhanced with a live puppet wrestling match against the Decemberists’ famous whale.

For comedy fans, Jimmy O. Yang is set to perform on Friday, April 18, at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Yang, known for his roles in Silicon Valley and Crazy Rich Asians, brings his “Big & Tall” tour to Portland, combining an engaging mix of self-exaggeration and humor rooted in his experiences as a Hong Kong-born comedian.

For those looking to indulge their taste buds, the ninth annual Baker’s Dozen Coffee Beer & Doughnut Fest will take place on Saturday, April 19, at The Zed at Zoiglhaus Brewing. This festival is a delicious opportunity to kickstart your Saturday, featuring a morning filled with samples from 13 local roasters, brewers, and bakers. Guests should brace themselves for unique combinations, including some beers infused with coffee.
This culinary delight will run from 10 am to 1 pm, and tickets range from $40 to $50.
Additionally, the KinkFest Vendor Market will be open on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20, at the Portland Expo Center. Although the three-day festival is sold out, the vendor market provides an opportunity for attendees to explore the diverse and inclusive world of BDSM. For theater enthusiasts, CoHo Theatre will present “Love, Shakespeare,” an improvised comedy experience. As part of Portland’s Fertile Ground Festival, this production invites audiences to experience the spontaneity of creating a Shakespearean play on the spot, all without a script. Lastly, on Tuesday, April 22, the Portland EcoFilm Festival will showcase a selection of New Indigenous Short Films at the Hollywood Theatre.
