As the week unfolds, Monday brings another unique experience at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium with “Meet The Grunion.”

During this nighttime adventure, attendees can catch a glimpse of the fish emerging from the waves—an enchanting natural spectacle.

Tickets for this experience are priced at $7 for adults and $3 for seniors and children, making it an affordable outing for families.

For those seeking cultural engagement, a new lunchtime concert series is launching on Tuesday at the Colburn Plaza in DTLA.

This series will feature midday classical performances from noon to 1 p.m., running on Tuesdays from April 15 through May 6.

Another option for Tuesday evening is the Netflix Is a Joke Radio Presents: “Are You Still Listening?” at Dynasty Typewriter.

This free monthly stand-up series features host Felipe Esparza plus a diverse lineup of comedians including Martin Rizo, Gabby Lamb, and Jordan Conley among others.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting an hour later, but given that seating is first-come, first-served, it’s wise to arrive early for a better chance at entry.

The beginning of the week also includes Sketch Party—a drawing and drinking meet-up at Benny Boy Brewing.

This event welcomes creativity and camaraderie as participants receive sketch materials and can enjoy craft beers and ciders, with food available from Jay’s Tacos.

Sketch Party invites individuals of all artistic levels and runs from 7 to 11 p.m., catered for those 21 and over only.

Midweek, The Getty Center resumes its beloved Poetry in the Garden series on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Fans of local culture can also attend Locals’ Night at Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, a special program designed for locals by locals.

This month’s event includes salsa dancing, over 30 local vendors, and two stages of live performances, alongside a fundraiser for salsa dancing.

The free event runs from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Later that evening, Griffith Observatory will hold their monthly “All Space Considered,” where the curatorial staff will discuss recent astronomical phenomena and news.

This evening presentation at the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater starts at 7 p.m. and is expected to draw a crowd, so arriving early is recommended.

As the weekend approaches, BEYOND THE STREETS will be debuting the exhibition PINK CLOUD on Friday.

Adding to the artistic lineup, the Manhattan Beach Art Center will host an opening reception on Friday for “Let Me Fix You a Plate.”

This immersive art experience, created by artist Keith Magruder, explores the dining table as a metaphor for culture, heritage, and the resilience of Black communities.

The opening includes an artist talk and light refreshments, running from 5 to 7 p.m., and is free to attend.

Looking ahead, Easter plans are already in motion with The Maybourne Beverly Hills offering a festive celebration.

Guest can enjoy a delightful al fresco brunch at The Terrace featuring a wide array of Easter specials prepared by Executive Chef Damon Gordon.
