New Culinary Experiences Open Across Dallas: From Rooftop Retreats to Revamped Eateries

Dallas continues to elevate its culinary scene with exciting new openings, featuring diverse dining experiences that cater to a variety of tastes and preferences.

Among the latest additions is Terrazza di Triozzi, a stunning rooftop venue attached to the popular Lower Greenville restaurant, Via Triozzi.

This lively spot boasts a 14-seat bar surrounded by lush greenery, reservable cabanas, and a menu offering light bites along with ten signature cocktails, including two refreshing frozen drinks perfect for the sunny Dallas climate.

For the first time, patrons can also enjoy pizzas from Via Triozzi, exclusively on the rooftop, with an enticing selection of four pizzettes ranging from traditional margherita to a gourmet Taleggio & local mushroom option.

When visiting Terrazza di Triozzi, don’t miss the chance to indulge in the shareable offerings.

Beginning your meal with marinated olives, seasoned with an exquisite blend of herbs, orange zest, and Calabrian chile, sets the stage for a delightful culinary adventure.

A highlight from the menu is the Carne Cruda, featuring chopped wagyu tenderloin complemented by Parmigiano-Reggiano and served with delectable pizzelle.

Although I wish there were more of the delicious Italian waffle crackers to enjoy with the wagyu, they are truly delightful on their own.

For an additional savory option, the ‘ndjua arancini—crispy, fried risotto balls—should not be overlooked, especially when accompanied by the rich mascarpone and zesty lemon sugo.

Additionally, seafood lovers can look forward to refreshing dishes like the scallop crudo and insalata di polpo, both of which are on my must-try list for the next visit, alongside all three enticing dessert options.

The balsamic strawberries and pistachio tiramisu particularly caught my attention!

Also new to the Dallas scene is La Tiki Paisa, housed within La Casita Coffee at the flagship Half Price Books.

This exciting evening transformation of the all-day café, spearheaded by husband-and-wife duo Marisca Trejo and Chef Alex Henderson with bartender Benj Pocta, offers a tiki cocktail menu along with a selection of small plates.

La Tiki’s menu is available daily after 5 PM, featuring fourteen unique tiki cocktails and generous small plates that are bound to impress.

Start your evening with the housemade sourdough bread and the remarkable fermented hot honey butter—an unforgettable combination!

For a flavorful option, the chicken bites in teriyaki sauce paired with onion slaw deliver an enjoyable taste reminiscent of karrage.

A must-try dish is the kimchi carbonara, with housemade noodles tossed with kimchi, parmesan, egg, and shiitake mushrooms, providing a bold kick that even those with a lower spice tolerance may find enjoyable.

For heartier fare, relish in the steak & okonomiyaki—a visual feast of sliced Angus beef atop a savory sourdough okonomiyaki, complemented by a delicately soft-boiled egg.

This dish is certainly a standout, and I only wish I’d saved more room to savor it.

Cafe Momentum, a non-profit restaurant dedicated to assisting justice-involved youth, continues to impress as it celebrates its 10th anniversary in downtown Dallas, led by Chef de Cuisine Aaron Collins.

Recently, the restaurant unveiled its spring menu, featuring a variety of thoughtfully crafted dishes.

Begin your dining experience with the fried green tomatoes, characterized by their hefty and crispy coating, paired perfectly with the coffee-rubbed carrots adorned with housemade ricotta, fermented honey, and toasted pistachios.

When it comes to main courses, the coffee-rubbed New York strip with oyster mushrooms, turnips, spinach, roasted garlic, and miso butter deserves high praise.

To complement your steak, the roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon lardons and spiced walnuts create an irresistible side.

Also worth tasting is the Smoked Fried Chicken, which pairs wonderfully with creamy mashed potatoes, collard greens, and a fluffy buttermilk biscuit.

Be sure not to miss out on the new avocado cheesecake mousse for dessert; it’s both pretty and delightful!

In further culinary news, the newly opened steakhouse and lounge, formerly known as Network Bar in West Dallas’ Trinity Groves, presents a stylish atmosphere created by the team behind the original restaurant in Houston.

Diners can expect a global twist on traditional Southern steakhouse fare in a sleek setting adorned with exposed brick and black-and-white photographs, including one of the iconic duo Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart.

For starters, indulge in the truffle lemon pepper wings, which are perfectly crispy and loaded with umami flavors.

The chili-glazed fried shrimp is another exciting option to keep an eye on for future visits.

Among the entrees, the Hawaiian Ribeye reigns supreme, delivering an explosion of flavor thanks to a 48-hour pineapple marinade that ensures each bite is juicy and bursting with taste.

Another standout is the Chicken Royale, which is a pan-seared roll stuffed with boudin rice, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, spinach, and peppers, all elegantly served atop a bed of mashed potatoes and mushroom Royale sauce.

This dish offers one of the most tender bites of chicken one could hope to experience!

Desserts at Winsome Prime are also not to be missed, including the famed Mom’s Carrot Cake— a recipe crafted by the owner’s mother, which comes highly recommended.

Last but not least, Fair Park’s newest eatery, Far-Out, has appointed the acclaimed Dallas chef Misti Norris as its culinary director, bringing an exciting new menu to this revitalized space that was formerly Wriggly Tin brewpub.

With a design inspired by West Texas aesthetics, the Quonset hut now features an expansive outdoor patio, making it a unique addition to the Dallas dining landscape.

Far-Out’s offerings may be limited—boasting just nine carefully curated dishes—but each one packs a punch of flavor.

Start your journey with the cured hirimasa tostada, which delivers the perfect kick with its mix of chiles toreados, balanced by avocado and preserved lime.

Next, be sure to try the crispy chili and pecan-rubbed Berkshire spare ribs, a dish that shines when paired with preserved apricot (which changes seasonally) and mojo sauce.

Lastly, don’t overlook the stuffed mushrooms, which surprise as a standout, served with tender chicken and rice topped with cheddar cognac cream, puffed buckwheat, and pickled Maitakes.

As the Dallas dining scene continues to flourish, food enthusiasts have plenty of new destinations to explore, ensuring a vibrant dining experience for all.
