Exciting Events This Sunday in Los Angeles: Open Streets, Juneteenth Celebration, and More

Los Angeles is gearing up for a vibrant Sunday with a lineup of community events that promise fun and engagement for all ages.

ActiveSGV will kick off the day with an open streets event connecting Alhambra, San Gabriel, and South Pasadena.

This five-mile route will be filled with live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities, all happening from 3 to 8 p.m.

The timing allows participants to enjoy the festive atmosphere as they ride, walk, or skate into the sunset.

As always, this event is free to attend, making it a great option for families.

For those interested in public transit, attendees can conveniently get to the event using the A Line to South Pasadena Station.

In addition to the open streets event, there’s a Juneteenth Celebration happening at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach.

This event runs from 2 to 7 p.m., featuring live music, a variety of food for purchase, and special vendors.

Entry is free, making it accessible for everyone to partake in celebrating this important day.

Over in Pasadena, the Hollywood Jane Revue is set to present their latest signature parody burlesque show, Jurassic Peek, which takes a creative twist on the classic Jurassic Park.

Taking place at Crown City Dance from 7 to 9 p.m., tickets for the show are priced reasonably at $23.18.

Attendees can expect a fun and entertaining performance that promises to deliver amusement and surprises.

Meanwhile, One Colorado in Old Pasadena will host the Bee Kind to Our Planet event, which coincides with Pollinator Week.

This eco-friendly celebration runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and will feature various activities focused on supporting local pollinators.

Visitors can participate in a special plant workshop, meet local beekeepers, and explore offerings from eco-conscious vendors, all free of charge.

Aside from these main events, there are six more exciting activities happening across Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Dine Out Pasadena Streetfest will turn Union St. between Raymond and Fair Oaks into a culinary haven with outdoor dining specials at various Old Pasadena restaurants.

For film enthusiasts, The Hammer will feature a screening of Celluloid Underground in the evening, part of the UCLA Film & Television Archive series.

This event is also free to attend.

Sports fans can lace up their tennis shoes for a Juneteenth Tournament & Beginners’ Clinic taking place in South L.A.

If you’re looking for a boozy brunch with a touch of entertainment, Venice West will host a variety show this Sunday, free to enter and $10 to perform.

Finally, the Arts District’s Truly LA will gather local artisans for the SoCal Etsy Guild Market, which runs from noon to 6 p.m. with free admission.

These events provide diverse options for Angelenos looking to unwind, learn, and celebrate community and culture this Sunday in Los Angeles.
