Fans of the hit show The Bear are in for a treat as Season 4 premieres today, June 25, on Hulu, dropping all ten episodes at 7 p.m.
While many may be tempted to binge the entire season in one go, the quest for the perfect binge-watching snacks cannot be overlooked.
Eater Chicago has compiled a list of recommended takeout and delivery options designed to suit the emotional rollercoaster of the season.
Curtis Duffy, the mastermind behind the Michelin-starred restaurant Ever, has launched a special delivery-only menu inspired by The Bear, in collaboration with Uber Eats. Available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, until July 28, the menu features delectable items like Italian beefs, chicken parm sandwiches, and even Mikey’s Spaghetti. One signature dessert, Marcus’s Honey Bun, promises to be a sweet finisher.
For those looking for a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine, Birrieria Zaragoza is a must-try. Though their original location in Archer Heights recently suffered from a fire, customers can still enjoy their culinary offerings at the second location in Uptown, open until 10 p.m. on weekends. Don’t miss out on their famed flan when placing your order via DoorDash.
If sandwiches, breads, and desserts are more your style, Loaf Lounge stands out as a comprehensive dining option. The café’s co-owner, Sarah Mispagel-Lustbader, was a consultant for Season 1 and crafted the iconic chocolate cake featured in the show. This beloved cake is available for pickup or delivery, but plan accordingly, as final orders are accepted until 3 p.m., with the café closing at 4 p.m. Orders can be made through Toast.
Occasionally, craving a well-crafted burger is essential, and The Loyalist delivers in this regard. Nestled beneath the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Smyth, The Loyalist offers an approachable menu, including one of the city’s best burgers. For a complete meal, consider ordering a side of fries or a salad through Tock.
For those interested in creating their own meal while watching, Publican Quality Meats (PQM) is an excellent choice. Head butcher Rob Levitt has made a cameo in Season 3, adding credibility to PQM’s reputation for outstanding sandwiches and gourmet ingredients. They offer an array of sausages and chops, and their produce selection complements a thoughtful approach to home cooking. Orders can be placed directly on PQM’s website.
As fans gear up for yet another intense season of The Bear, the culinary landscape of Chicago offers a plethora of options to elevate the viewing experience. Whether you’re savoring a classic Italian beef or indulging in a decadent chocolate cake, these featured restaurants promise to enhance your journey through the ups and downs of the show with delicious meals.
