Out Front Theatre Company, recognized as Georgia’s only professional, award-winning LGBTQIA+ theatre company, has officially announced its 2025/26 season lineup, marking a significant milestone as the organization celebrates its 10th anniversary.
“Anything that can last and thrive for 10 years should be celebrated, but for a theatre company to experience the growth and recognition like we have over the past ten years is nothing short of miraculous,” said Paul Conroy, Out Front’s Founder and Producing Artistic Director.
Conroy emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to telling queer stories unapologetically and uplifting the entire LGBTQIA+ community. He extended gratitude to every artist, audience member, employee, and volunteer for contributing to the company’s success. “Season 10 is going to be our biggest and most joyous yet, and will be just the latest chapter in what we know will be a long and fabulous future!”
Against a backdrop where local and national funding for LGBTQIA+ spaces is diminishing, Out Front is calling upon its community for support. The company aims to reinforce its role not only as a venue for queer narratives but also as a flourishing hub for various LGBTQIA+ organizations. Community members are encouraged to make a difference by donating or purchasing tickets.
The season will kick off with the highly anticipated musical, 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL, which is based on the popular 20th Century Fox film. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, this Tony Award-nominated production tells the story of three female coworkers who reach their breaking point and devise a plan to challenge their sexist boss.
As the three women take control and instigate a workplace transformation, audiences can look forward to experiencing the joyous music and empowering themes of the story. “There has been no better time to tell the story of a group of marginalized people who have been kept down by an unfair system, and how they come together to fight back against a lying, sexist, hypocritical bigot,” commented Conroy.
9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL is set to run from October 23 to November 8, 2025, providing a powerful and relatable narrative that resonates with both past and present struggles for equality.
Next, Out Front will present the world premiere of MAMMA DEAREST! HERE WE JOAN AGAIN, a new festive comedy from Blake Fountain. Set during the holiday season, the play imagines chaos when Joan Crawford’s daughter, Christina, attempts to uncover her mother’s identity amid a backdrop of returning Hollywood icons—including Bette Davis, Judy Garland, and Eartha Kitt.
The show is destined to blend high drama with over-the-top humor, culminating in a spectacular holiday meltdown. MAMMA DEAREST! HERE WE JOAN AGAIN will run from December 11 to December 21, 2025.
The Southeastern premiere of BLKS by Aziza Barnes follows in early 2026. This sharply funny and poignant play centers on three twenty-somethings in New York City as they navigate relationships and the quest for intimacy. The characters—Octavia, Imani, and June—engage in wild escapades while grappling with loneliness and societal expectations.
Running from January 29 to February 14, 2026, BLKS is sure to deliver a powerful commentary packaged within humor and relatable experiences.
Following this, Out Front will debut the Georgia Premiere of WHICH WAY TO THE STAGE by Ana Nogueira. Set in 2015, this charming comedy highlights the transformative conversations between two friends, Jeff and Judy, as they wait outside the stage door of the Broadway musical If/Then.
Their dialogue reveals deeper themes of friendship, ambition, and the challenges of navigating femininity in an ever-changing world. WHICH WAY TO THE STAGE will be performed from March 12 to March 28, 2026.
To wrap up the season, Out Front will present the stage adaptation of the cult classic CLUE. Adapted from the 1985 Paramount film and inspired by the classic board game, this production promises a whirlwind of comedy and mystery featuring an ensemble of eccentric characters at an unusual dinner party shrouded in intrigue.
CLUE will run from April 30 to May 16, 2026.
“To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we really wanted to ensure that queer joy and comedy would be found in every piece of programming this year,” noted Justin Kalin, Associate Artistic Director.
By programming both light-hearted musicals and poignant comedies, Out Front aims to create a season filled with laughter and reflection. The addition of joyous plays like BLKS and WHICH WAY TO THE STAGE, along with the beloved murder mystery CLUE, sets the stage for an unforgettable year.
The company looks forward to welcoming audiences and community supporters for this monumental celebration of queer theatre, emphasizing joy, authenticity, and the power of storytelling within the LGBTQIA+ community.
