Old City District Hosts Fourth Annual Wedding Stroll to Simplify Wedding Planning

Planning a wedding can often feel like a daunting task, but the Old City District’s fourth annual Wedding Stroll offers a refreshing solution to potential stress.

On Wednesday, April 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., couples can enjoy an evening of exploration as nearly 40 wedding-related vendors open their doors in Old City, known for its vibrant wedding community.

Leah Ben, the senior marketing manager for the Old City District, spoke about the significance of this event, calling it a chance for couples to meet directly with the people responsible for their special day.

‘We have a high concentration of wedding-related businesses in Old City,’ Ben explained.

Unlike larger venues that might feel like wedding factories, this stroll allows couples to connect with local experts personally.

Ben, having recently gotten married in the Old City herself, emphasized the Wedding Stroll as a ‘one-stop wedding shop’ offering almost all services needed for planning a wedding—from floral arrangements to unique venues.

Amid the numerous vendors, ANIMA Natural Pet Products joins the stroll this year, promoting the growing trend of including pets in wedding festivities.

Kimberly Davis, the owner of ANIMA, echoed the sentiment, suggesting that pets are treated as family members, and their increasing presence in weddings reflects that bond.

ANIMA offers a range of products, including custom collars, leashes, and even tuxedos or wedding gowns designed specifically for furry companions.

Davis expressed excitement about the trend of incorporating pets into wedding ceremonies, noting that they customize outfits for pets of all shapes and sizes.

Old City’s cobblestone streets and charming brick buildings make it a sought-after wedding destination, attracting couples from both the city and surrounding areas.

Choosing the perfect dress remains a crucial decision for brides, and Monet Imperato, owner of Mari Me Bridal, believes Old City’s concentration of bridal shops provides a convenient shopping experience.

Imperato pointed out that modern brides often visit multiple shops in one day, making the stroll an excellent way for them to view different dresses and connect with businesses actively.

The casual atmosphere of the Wedding Stroll allows brides to work through any initial shopping jitters, enabling them to return for appointments feeling more familiar and comfortable.

As enticing perks, participating couples will be entered into a raffle for nearly $4,000 worth of wedding-related giveaways, making attending the event even more appealing.

Additionally, the stroll features a unique ‘Bloom Bar’ hosted by NE Flower Boutique.

Florist Anastasia Beilyk is eager to showcase her floral designs, providing a hands-on opportunity for couples to create custom bouquets as they visit various vendors.

As Beilyk noted, flowers are tangible items that the couples can touch and appreciate during their visits, enhancing their experience.

NE Flower Boutique offers everything from standalone bouquets to full reception floral design, welcoming creative input as couples brainstorm ideas.

‘When brides come in with something bold and unique, we’re excited to collaborate,’ Beilyk added, highlighting the genuine enthusiasm that vendors have for creating memorable weddings.

This year’s Old City Wedding Stroll is a free event, but registration is required in advance online.

With the right mix of personal interaction and valuable offerings, the evening aims to relieve some of the overwhelm often associated with wedding planning.

‘It’s a fun event for everyone,’ Beilyk expressed.

The charm of Old City’s atmosphere and the engaging experience with vendors help couples truly feel connected to the planning process, allowing them to tick off items on their checklist with confidence.

‘Here you get to actually talk to these vendors and see if it’s a good fit,’ Beilyk said.

The Wedding Stroll promises a delightful evening filled with inspiration and excitement, setting the stage for couples to create the wedding of their dreams.
