Two Violent Road Rage Incidents Lead to Charges in Boston

Boston has been shaken by two violent road rage incidents that have resulted in serious charges against two women.

In the first incident, Danielle Stokes, a 42-year-old Roxbury woman, faces multiple charges after she allegedly struck a man with her car and then proceeded to stab him.

The altercation occurred on May 13 around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Marvin Street and Shawmut Avenue in Roxbury.

Responding to a 911 call, Boston police found a 45-year-old man lying in a pool of blood at the scene.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered he had sustained stab wounds, as evidenced by visible lacerations on his forehead and hand.

Witnesses to the incident reported a physical confrontation between Stokes and the victim, prompting them to alert authorities.

Surveillance footage revealed Stokes driving a gray Audi SUV, which struck the victim riding an electric scooter on Roxbury Street.

After the collision, both Stokes and her passenger, 54-year-old Jacqueline Adeyemi, exited the vehicle and approached the victim as he attempted to flee on his scooter.

As the victim edged away, Stokes was reportedly seen making aggressive punching motions towards him.

The situation escalated when the SUV was spotted again on Marvin Street, where the victim came closer to confront Stokes.

Video evidence depicts all three individuals engaging in a physical struggle, with Adeyemi brandishing an object, possibly a bat or stick, and striking the victim.

During the violent encounter, both Stokes and Adeyemi reportedly knocked the victim to the ground.

Stokes was then allegedly observed standing over the incapacitated man, wielding what was believed to be a knife, making stabbing motions while dragging him along the street.

Fortunately, the incident occurred in a public area, allowing several witnesses and surveillance cameras to capture the chaotic scene.

The injured man was subsequently transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

Notably, during his medical treatment, eight plastic bags containing a rock-like substance, suspected to be crack cocaine, fell out of his pocket.

He is now expected to face summons in court on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, marking his case as a subsequent offense.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden commented on the violence, stating, “This was a chaotic, continuing incident taking place in the middle of the street with, luckily, witnesses present and surveillance cameras nearby.

Anyone thinking they can engage in violent conduct in this day and age with no chance of being observed is kidding themselves.”

Stokes has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, specifically involving her car and a knife.

A judge has set her bail at $1,000, and she is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing on July 14.

In a separate yet similarly alarming incident, 27-year-old Andrew Oprian of Belmont faces charges after he allegedly attacked another motorist with a hatchet.

This assault was reported on May 17 around 11:40 p.m., when Oprian became enraged after another driver attempted to overtake him on Commonwealth Avenue, where he was allegedly swerving and driving at a slow pace of 10 mph.

In a fit of rage, Oprian reportedly forced the victim off the road, crashing into a tree.

After the crash, while the victim was dazed from airbags deploying, Oprian walked over to the victim’s vehicle and began smashing its windshield multiple times with a hatchet before fleeing the scene.

The entire shocking episode was recorded by numerous surveillance cameras and bystanders’ cell phones, which have provided crucial evidence for the case.

Highlighting the terrifying nature of the incident, DA Hayden stated, “Anyone watching this video can understand how terrified the victim must have been and how dangerous the whole situation was.

We are selective in moving for dangerousness findings, and this is a case where seeking such a finding is entirely justified.”

A dangerousness hearing for Oprian was held at Brighton District Court, with the judge presently reviewing the matter before delivering a ruling on Monday.
