As summer settles into the Metroplex, food lovers can look forward to an exciting lineup of new restaurant openings. From esteemed hospitality groups comes a variety of dining options that promise to elevate the local culinary landscape.
Among the most highly anticipated is Mamani, a fine dining restaurant set to open in the Quad, an increasingly popular Uptown building.
Owned by the respected team of Brandon and Henry Cohanim, known for Namo and the James Beard-nominated Bar Collette, Mamani will feature a menu that blends French style with Italian influences.
In collaboration with chef Christophe De Lellis of the Michelin-starred Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas, this restaurant is generating significant buzz. Although initially expected to open at the end of May, construction delays have pushed the launch to late June or early July.
Another exciting addition to the Metroplex dining scene will be an unnamed restaurant from the well-regarded Duro Hospitality Group. Following the opening of Chumley House in Fort Worth, the group plans to introduce a new Japanese-influenced restaurant in mid to late summer, taking over the former Homewood space on Oak Lawn Avenue.
While details remain under wraps, it’s confirmed that the menu will include sushi and other Japanese-inspired dishes, promising a unique culinary experience.
Further enriching the local dining options is Ayat, a top Palestinian restaurant from New York City set to open an outpost in Richardson this summer. Owner Abdul Elenani’s venture into Texas began when he visited to aid a friend in opening a restaurant, leading him to a real estate opportunity he couldn’t resist.
Ayat aims to open by August and will serve a tantalizing menu featuring dishes like msakhan, a popular Palestinian dish made with fresh taboon bread, sautéed onions, sumac, pine nuts, and half a chicken.
Other menu highlights will include fattat jaj, a six-layer dish that combines roasted chicken, rice, chickpeas, mint yogurt, crispy pita, garlic sauce, and slivered almonds, as well as Mansaf, which consists of bone-in lamb chunks in a fermented yogurt sauce served over fresh sajj bread and rice.
In Far North Dallas, Zon Zon is set to captivate diners with its fine dining Mediterranean offerings. Restaurateur Yaser Khalaf, recognized for his other successful ventures, such as Darna and Baboush, teams up with his son, Mak, to create this intimate dining experience.
Named after Khalaf’s youngest daughter Zaina, Zon Zon plans to feature an open kitchen and a menu that highlights refined Mediterranean cuisine.
Meanwhile, Fort Worth will welcome Café Mirador, an outpost of the acclaimed Mirador in Dallas, known for winning the 2024 Eater Awards for Best Tea Service. Occupying a more compact 1,000 square feet inside a new Forty Five Ten boutique, this location will offer guest favorites from its Dallas counterpart.
Diners can expect a selection featuring ahi tuna cornettes, a lobster roll, farro bowl, and chicken bites, along with a special weekend brunch menu that includes dishes like salmon gravlax with caviar, quiche Florentine, and eggs Benny.
Executive chef Travis Wyatt will oversee both Café Mirador locations, ensuring a consistent quality and experience.
Additionally, the Fort Worth location will stand out with artwork from renowned German fashion photographer Juergen Teller, combining culinary and artistic experiences under one roof.
With so many new and diverse dining options on the horizon, this summer promises to be an exciting time for food enthusiasts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
