Avanti Food & Beverage Vail has emerged as a vibrant culinary hub in the heart of Vail, taking over the former Larkspur restaurant space at the Golden Peak base area lodge since last December.
This modern food hall features five distinct food concepts, an indoor and outdoor bar, and a spacious patio that offers breathtaking views of Vail Mountain.
Travis Christ, the director of operations for Avanti F&B Vail, expressed the positive reception the establishment has received, particularly from the local community.
“Our first winter in Vail went very well. I think everything we heard from, especially the locals, was, ‘Oh, my gosh, we needed this. Vail needed a place like Avanti,'” Christ shared.
It seems that the locals are excited about the variety Avanti offers and enjoy its accessibility as a dining option. With summer now underway, Avanti is set to unveil new menu items from its food concepts.
Detoor, known for its café and après brasserie vibe, has introduced a seasonal menu that includes an assortment of sandwiches, wraps, and salads in addition to its regular coffee and tea offerings.
For seafood lovers, Detoor continues to serve fresh oysters alongside its new selections.
Backyard Burgers has switched up its menu for summer with the addition of items like a summer BLT, a hot honey chicken sandwich, and burnt end mac and cheese.
Powder Crust Pizza has also made enhancements to its offerings, rolling out a fresh lineup of pizzas, including a pesto pie and buffalo chicken pizza, as well as salads.
Meanwhile, Boychik remains committed to its winter menu, highlighting its Mediterranean-style cuisine that’s suitable for year-round enjoyment.
Glo, the sushi and ramen eatery, has revamped its Omakase offerings, increasing the courses from nine to twelve, focusing on summer-friendly dishes.
The real appeal of Avanti F&B Vail transcends food, as it offers a lively atmosphere and a packed schedule of events throughout the week.
Every Monday evening at 5:30 p.m., guests can participate in doubles volleyball on the lawn, a great way to inject some friendly competition into the summer evenings.
“Whether you’re playing to win or just for fun, it’s the perfect way to spike your summer evenings. Grab a drink, gather your crew, and hit the lawn,” Hayley Edmisten, the director of marketing for Avanti Vail, remarked.
In collaboration with the Vail Recreation District, this volleyball initiative spans eight weeks, culminating in an end-of-season party with prizes for the top teams.
The proximity of Avanti to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater means it serves as an excellent pre- and post-concert venue.
Avanti has partnered with The Amp to act as the official host for the Bulleit Hot Summer Nights concerts.
Guests can park for free at Avanti, enjoy food and drinks, and receive complimentary golf cart rides to the concert venue. After the show, they can return to Avanti for more refreshments or head home.
On Tuesdays, Avanti Vail offers group mountain bike rides starting at 5:30 p.m., led by the bar manager, Jake Marasco.
“Hit the trails, then hit the bar!” Edmisten encouraged.
These rides explore Vail’s scenic routes and return to Avanti, which will offer exclusive drink specials just for the riders.
Midweek, Wednesdays bring Smarty Party Trivia Night at 7 p.m., allowing guests to test their knowledge while enjoying drink specials and a mix of intriguing prizes.
“Enjoy drink specials and a wild mix of prizes — some awesome, some OK, and some… you’ll just have to see for yourself,” Edmisten noted with enthusiasm.
For cinema lovers, Avanti has lined up movie nights every Thursday at dusk, showcasing films on a 30-foot inflatable screen.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets while Avanti provides popcorn and refreshing beverages from the outdoor bar.
Fridays kick off the weekend with Avanti’s Friday Afternoon Club from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring live music and drink specials with stunning mountain views.
This is particularly great for larger groups, with no reservations necessary and a wide selection from various restaurants inside Avanti.
“We’ll have drink specials from Hampton Water and Suerte Tequila as well as deals on rosé and margaritas,” Edmisten said.
The same day, guests can indulge in Glo’s Omakase dinner, which offers an intimate experience showcasing Japanese cuisine paired with a special sake tasting menu.
“Glo’s Omakase is a laid-back, intimate way to explore Japanese cuisine, one bite at a time,” Edmisten explained.
Saturdays at Avanti offer the flexibility for custom events as needed; for instance, last week featured the Vail Craft Beer Festival After-Party.
Sundays are action-packed with morning and evening events, starting with a free vinyasa yoga session on the lawn from 10 to 11 a.m., led by instructor Brianna Houston.
“Flow through your morning with mountain views and good energy, then roll inside for all the post-yoga fuel you need,” Edmisten advised.
Later that evening, guests can unwind with Latin Night from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring live music by Diego Espinosa, along with cocktails and food.
“Whether you’re here to dance your heart out, sip drinks, or just enjoy the music, this is your weekly excuse to let loose,” Edmisten concluded.
