President Donald Trump Announces Year-Long Celebration for America’s 250th Birthday

Today, President Donald J. Trump unveiled ambitious plans for what is being called the Great American State Fair, a year-long event to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Kicking off in Iowa, the fair will travel to state fairs across the country in the lead-up to a grand festival on the National Mall in July 2026.

The initiative is designed to be a unifying and patriotic celebration that draws visitors from around the globe, featuring exhibits from all 50 states.

In conjunction with the fair, President Trump announced the Patriot Games, an innovative athletic competition open to high school students nationwide.

This event will be led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and will be nationally televised, allowing for a first-of-its-kind showcase of youth athletics.

Funding for these national celebrations comes from the One Big Beautiful Bill, which allocates resources for a variety of events honoring America 250.

President Trump expressed a desire for communities of faith to come together in prayer for the nation and to give thanks for the freedoms enjoyed in America.

To underscore the importance of American history, President Trump plans to create a new outdoor park known as the National Garden of American Heroes.

This park will feature 250 statues dedicated to American heroes, with funding provisions included in the One Big Beautiful Bill for both the statues and the park itself.

In addition to these events, cabinet members and agencies across the federal government are preparing extensive plans for celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Federal buildings will be adorned with patriotic decorations for a designated time period in 2026.

The America 250 Commission, in collaboration with the White House Task Force, is actively working with the private sector to execute this monumental celebration.

Highlighting the innovative spirit of the nation, the America 250 Commission is planning major initiatives, such as the “America Innovate” expositions, which will showcase American innovation from the last 250 years and envision what the future may hold.

President Trump’s commitment to this comprehensive celebration aligns with his campaign promises.

He has pledged to honor America’s founding in 1776 through numerous initiatives, including the year-long Great American State Fair.

The establishment of the Patriot Games and the revival of the National Garden of American Heroes also reflect his commitment to honoring American greatness.

Shortly after returning to office, President Trump signed an Executive Order aimed at preserving America’s monuments and ensuring the establishment of the National Garden of American Heroes.

In his address, President Trump reiterated his invitation for America’s religious communities to unite in prayer for the country, reinforcing the themes of gratitude and national pride.

With this ambitious slate of events and programs, President Trump aims to deliver a momentous and unforgettable celebration for the nation’s 250th birthday.
