Brooke Eden Celebrates LGBTQ+ Representation in Country Music Ahead of WorldPride

Brooke Eden, a rising lesbian country star, recently received heartfelt compliments from an unexpected admirer during her concert in Los Angeles.

An older gentleman, dressed in full cowboy attire, shared his appreciation for Eden’s music.

Describing him as “a 70ish-year-old cowboy,” Eden recalled how he not only praised her performance but also gifted her a special hat pin he earned at the gay rodeo in 1988.

Holding her adorned hat proudly, Eden remarked, “I’ll cherish this forever.”

Eden’s emotional encounter is a reflection of her ongoing connection with the LGBTQ+ community, particularly during her recent tour promoting her festive singles, “Giddy Up” and “Rainbow Rodeo.”

As part of her tour, Eden introduces local line dancing during her performances, engaging audiences from various backgrounds.

“Someone from the gay rodeo has come up to me after every single show,” she shared, emphasizing her bond with the community as the International Gay Rodeo Association celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

On the horizon, 2025 marks another significant milestone — the 50th anniversary of Capital Pride, leading Eden and her team to dream of participating in this year’s WorldPride DC.

Although she and her team have had conversations with organizers for several years about the possibility of performing, Eden remained cautiously optimistic about landing a spot on the lineup.

Eden’s professional journey has not been without challenges; she faced setbacks while auditioning for American Idol in 2008 and 2011 without gaining much traction.

Yet she stresses that setbacks are common among artists in the genre, pointing to successful musicians who share similar experiences.

“Ask Morgan Wallen, Maren Morris, [and any] number of country artists who tried out for American Idol that didn’t end up on the show,” she reflected.
