Celebrate Independence Day with Festivities Across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia

As the Fourth of July approaches, residents of metro Atlanta and North Georgia are gearing up for a vibrant celebration this year, especially since the holiday falls on a Friday, promising many people a long three-day weekend.

The festivities kick off with a variety of events throughout the region, offering something for everyone, from parades and concerts to dazzling fireworks shows.

In Atlanta and Fulton County, the Children’s Museum of Atlanta will host an Independence Day event featuring special storytime sessions and an indoor parade on July 4. Admission to the museum includes participation in these festive activities, making it a delightful outing for families with young children.

On July 3, Johns Creek will light up for the Independence Day Celebration at Newtown Park, where attendees can enjoy live music, family activities, food, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Continuing the celebrations, the 4th of July Parade at Serenbe in Chattahoochee Hills will form a core part of the festivities, featuring decorated golf carts, floats, and musicians, kicking off at 10 a.m. The event is open to all with no admission fee.

Wills Park in Alpharetta will host a July Fourth fireworks show beginning at 9:15 p.m., where families can bring their blankets and chairs to enjoy the evening sky filled with colors. Additionally, Sandy Springs’ City Green will transform into Stars & Stripes – a gathering filled with community energy and a fireworks display.

In Roswell, the Fourth of July Celebration at Roswell Area Park welcomes guests with live music, food trucks, and fireworks as the sun sets.

Traveling to Bartow County, the City of Cartersville will make a splash with its Fourth of July Celebration at Dellinger Park, offering live entertainment, children’s activities, food, and, notably, a parade at 9 a.m. on July 4.

In DeKalb County, festivities begin earlier with the Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain Park, running from July 1 to July 7. Visitors can enjoy nightly fireworks following the Music Across America Light Show, all included with park admission.

The Dunwoody Fourth of July Parade, taking place on July 4, promises a traditional charm with marching bands, floats, and clowns, starting at 9 a.m. A festive atmosphere is further ensured with the Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks in downtown Decatur, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and features live music and a fireworks display after the parade.

Cobb County offers multiple ways to celebrate, starting with Kennesaw’s Salute to America on July 3, featuring a street party with live music and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

On Independence Day itself, Marietta Square will host Fourth in the Park, a lively event full of a parade, arts and crafts shows, concerts, a kid’s zone, and fireworks. In Acworth, the July Fourth Concert and Fireworks will have food vendors, live music, and fireworks to close the day at 9:30 p.m.

Those in Powder Springs can attend the Fourth of July Celebration, Cruise-In, and Fireworks at Thurman Springs Park, featuring music, food vendors, a cruise-in car show, and fireworks also starting at 9:30 p.m.

For those looking for theme park excitement, Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell will celebrate with Star Spangled Nights on July 4–5. The patriotic fireworks synchronized to music add to the thrill of the park’s rides.

In Cherokee County, the July Fourth Spectacular in Downtown Woodstock will gather families for a parade, festival atmosphere, live music, and breathtaking fireworks.

Chamblee residents can enjoy Chamblee Rocks: 4th of July Celebration at Chamblee City Hall, where a community festival with live local bands and a vibrant fireworks display at 9 p.m. await guests.

Downtown Canton will host an Independence Day Celebration beginning with a parade at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at dusk off Riverstone Parkway.

In Coweta County, the Independence Day Parade in Downtown Newnan will showcase a classic hometown parade experience, showcasing community spirit.

Douglas County residents will gather for the Douglasville Independence Day Parade on July 4, leading to festivities and fireworks at Town Green.

Meanwhile, Harris County thrives with the July Fourth Star Spangled Beach Party at Callaway Gardens from July 4–5, engaging attendees with beach games, mini golf, and a Fireworks Extravaganza.

Fayette County will see the Peachtree City July Fourth Parade and Fireworks, featuring a morning parade and evening fireworks over Lake Peachtree, all at no charge.

Fun Spot America Atlanta will also host a 4th of July Fireworks Celebration, featuring an explosive show choreographed to music, alongside over 25 rides and attractions.

In Forsyth County, the Cumming Fourth of July Celebration at the Cumming Fairgrounds promises a steam engine parade, food vendors, kids’ activities, round off the night with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Gwinnett County offers several pre-Fourth activities, including the Prelude to the Fourth on July 2 in Lawrenceville, with live music and fireworks.

Red, White & Boom! in Norcross on July 3 features festive entertainment, while Lilburn will host Sparkle in the Park, and Sugar Hill will celebrate with Sparks in the Park, all culminating in spectacular fireworks displays.

Snellville will wrap up the Independence Day events with Star Spangled Snellville, featuring an Independence Day festival and fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

For those taking a longer holiday, the 4th of July at Lanier Islands runs from June 29 to July 7, featuring nightly fireworks shows, live music, and games.

Paulding County will also participate with the 4th of July Concert & Fireworks in Dallas, planned for family enjoyment with food trucks and live music.

Rockdale County contributes to the weekend festivities with Red, White and BOOM! at Olde Town Conyers, bringing food trucks, kids’ activities, and music.

Towns County will celebrate with fireworks at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds over Lake Chatuge, marking a perfect scenic backdrop for Independence Day.

Dining options are plentiful as restaurants get into the spirit of the holiday. Bojangles is running a Round-Up for Heroes Campaign, allowing customers to aid military families through a special initiative during this time.

Your 3rd Spot is hosting “Red, White & Play,” a four-day celebration from July 3–6, featuring games, chef-driven food specials, and lively entertainment.

Steak & Grace in Dunwoody will be open on July 4, offering an elegant dining experience with their signature dishes, available for reservations through OpenTable.

HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern invites diners to enjoy festive foods and drinks on July 4, including special Independence Day-themed menu items.

Marlow’s Tavern will delight “Insiders” with a complimentary Red, White and Blue burger on July 4 with any qualifying purchase, encouraging guests to celebrate together.
