Inter Miami is set to make a significant mark in football history as they prepare to host the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Having just five years of history under their belt, the MLS powerhouse has quickly transformed into a global football sensation, attracting some of the sport’s brightest stars.
Co-owned by soccer icon David Beckham, Inter Miami is now associated with legends such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets.
The road to their qualification for the revamped Club World Cup, which is scheduled to take place between June and July 2025, is particularly noteworthy.
Unlike the other CONCACAF clubs invited to the tournament, Inter Miami did not secure their spot by winning a CONCACAF Champions League title.
Instead, FIFA has awarded a dedicated slot to a team from the host nation, and the Herons earned this opportunity by achieving the best overall record in the 2024 MLS regular season, securing the Supporters’ Shield.
Their qualification showcases the rapid ascent of the franchise in a brief period and sets the stage for a thrilling performance on the world stage.
As the tournament approaches, Inter Miami’s schedule has been announced, placing them in Group A alongside formidable opponents such as Al Ahly from Egypt, Palmeiras from Brazil, and Porto from Portugal.
To advance to the knockout stages, the team will need to secure a top-two finish in their group.
The excitement will kick off on Saturday, June 14, 2025, when Inter Miami faces Al Ahly FC at the iconic Hard Rock Stadium.
The final of the tournament is slated for Sunday, July 13, at MetLife Stadium, with a group stage running from June 14 to June 26, followed by knockout rounds that will see the competition intensify.
The schedule is structured as follows: the Round of 16 will take place from June 28 to July 1, the quarter-finals on July 4 and 5, and the semi-finals on July 8 and 9.
In total, 32 teams from around the globe are set to compete in this prestigious event, with representation from all international federations.
In addition to Inter Miami, the CONCACAF representatives include Monterrey, Seattle Sounders FC, LAFC, and Pachuca.
Teams from other confederations will also be part of the tournament, ranging from Al Hilal and Urawa Red Diamonds in Asia to powerhouses like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City from Europe.
As the tournament draws closer, fans eagerly anticipate the electrifying matches that will unfold, and the world will watch as Inter Miami takes center stage in what promises to be a remarkable showcase of football during the summer of 2025.
