Spring Events Bloom in Atlanta This May

As spring unfolds in Atlanta, the city welcomes a vibrant range of events highlighting design, art, and culture for residents and visitors alike throughout May.

Starting with a spectacular opportunity to explore the world of luxury design, the 2025 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ SOUTHEASTERN DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE offers its final tours until May 11. This impressively designed Cotswolds-inspired residence showcases the collaborative efforts of Cole Construction, William T. Baker, Land Plus, and SOURCE, along with esteemed designers from across the Southeast. With opulent amenities like a media room, gym, sauna, and even a golf simulator, this 10,000-square-foot home is a luxurious retreat. Proceeds from the event benefit Hope Heals, encouraging attendees to seize the chance to visit before it closes.

On May 7, a significant milestone will be celebrated at the Cherokee Garden Library of the Atlanta History Center, marking its 50th anniversary. Renowned interior designer Charlotte Moss will lead an engaging evening featuring a lecture and book signing, followed by a cocktail reception. Proceeds from this event will contribute to an essential rare book acquisition for the library, which houses over 40,000 diverse works, preserving and sharing meaningful stories that reflect the botanical and cultural heritage of the region.

As the arts also take center stage, the ATLANTA BALLET concludes its season with a captivating mixed bill titled Catch Tuplet from May 9 to 11 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The event showcases masterful performances of three dynamic works by celebrated European choreographers, including the world premiere of Hypnagogia by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. With music by artists like Philip Glass and Nils Frahm accentuating the choreography, ballet enthusiasts are in for a breathtaking finale that emphasizes rhythm and balance.

From May 15 to June 28, the city will also host ATELIER, a revitalized exhibition formerly known as the Luxury Living Show. Set in the upscale Buckhead Village District, ATELIER will serve as a source of inspiration, spotlighting innovative luxury products, finishes, and trends in kitchen, bath, and outdoor living design. Open to the public, this interactive experience will also feature exclusive, invitation-only events designed to elevate design conversations.

Simultaneously, the SWAN COACH HOUSE GALLERY will showcase The Summer Invitational from May 15 to July 31, celebrating a diverse collection of artworks from over 60 artists across Georgia and the Southeast. With a multitude of mediums including pottery, paintings, jewelry, and textiles, art lovers will find an array of stunning creations curated by Maria Bruckman and Jacob O’Kelley, sure to capture their hearts and imaginations.

For a picturesque outing, visitors can explore Madison, Georgia, on May 16 and 17 during the 2025 MADISON IN MAY TOUR OF HOMES AND GARDENS. Guests will partake in self-guided tours highlighting a blend of elegant historic homes and churches, truly embodying the town’s Spring beauty and rich history, accentuated by the local charm.

To conclude the month, Atlanta will host the ATLANTA PATRON PARTY on May 31 in a historic Buckhead home filled with art. Highlights will include a gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Chris Murphy, musical performances, and a silent auction, all benefiting the operations and restoration of Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden in Summerville. The exact location of this upscale gathering will be communicated to ticketholders two weeks prior to the event.

In a city teeming with possibilities, Atlanta’s May events promise a season of inspiration, culture, and community, inviting all to partake in the joys of spring.
